Comp ARF Extra 260 Build Time . . .
Hello!
I just received word today that the all White 260 I ordered a while back will be here in about 7 days. Mr. Andy Kane has been a great help thus far. He has been flying one for a while and seems to be very impressed. The pics of his plane is what motivated me to get started and park the other project.
Dean Bird - I hope he can follow along with his build as well. By the way have you received your plane? Anyways I will post some pics very soon. Below is what I will use during the build.

RE: Comp ARF Extra 260 Build Time . . .
Well guys my 260 was delivered today and all I can say is WOW! The quality has been really stepped up. I do not see one problem with this plane and I am very picky. I am patiently awaiting the arrival of a DA-150 and Greves Tuned Pipes. All I have is one photo due to my digital camera dying.
Andy Kane at Comp ARF really goes out of his way to help with your plane purchase. I highly recommend him...
Thanks,
Perry

My servos arrived yesterday, so I'm ready to start installing servos in the wing. The engine standoffs are on the way from SWB, then the engine can be installed.
I've got the Cactus Classic to fly this weekend, them I'm going to hit it hard. I'll probably start posting some pictures next week in the Flying Cirkus "Assembly Required" forum.
Tor wanted some pictures, so here are a couple.
I'll post the link into this thread when my build pictures are posted in the Flying Cirkus forum.
Good luck PTS!!!
Dean

Hello Dean!
What servos are you running? Are you going to run the third servo in the wings? I will be running HITEC 5955TG. I am also waiting on my engine mount from SWB.

I should be doing the aileron servos next week, so I'll start posting pictures towards the end of next week on the work that's been done so far. The thread will be in the Flying Cirkus "Assembly Required" forum.
I'll keep an eye on your thread in case you have questions.
O.K., one more picture. Here's a picture of the fuselage after the main gear, tailwheel, and cowl were installed. You're looking at my workbench and my workshop.
Have fun with your build!!

I look forward to your aileron build and primarily your pushrod setup. This is one of the questions I wrote myself regarding how to set this up? There was a thread in this forum on a 3.1 Super Extra on a 3 servo setup. The first 2 servos utilize SWB 1" full arms and the last one a 2 1/4" full arm cut down so only the hole at the 1" point is left. I was looking to do something similar but was waiting to gain more info.
Thanks,
Perry

Hey Dean,
Are you going to have that thing done in time for Bakersfield or Vegas??? I noticed you're not using the Stock bolts/axles....Are you going to spring for the Greves Pipes???
My Turquoise Kiwi will be here sometime late next week.. I'm going to start off with 5955's and Airwild 1-1/2's on the inboard phenolic plate and see how it flies before trying the outboard mount.(Ihave a spare set from my SX already done and ready to go in.)
From looking at the design of the plane ,I'm pretty excited about how it should fly!!!After having 6 3meters,it will have to fly a little better or else! I believe I've perfected my install...Very simple ,nothing extra and everything far forward for the 4 servos in the stab, while still allowing for a carbon spinner on the nose to save weight...
I finally got a wireless broadband card for the better half's laptop, now I can upload pics and a video of the build without it taking all day!!
More Later, Dave Stoik

I would be nice if one 5955 would work. Talk about saving weight. Dave I saw you fly last year at the Albuquerque IMAC. Look forward to this years event. PSP Manufacturing makes a trick titanium axle setup if that is what Dean is using.

FWIW! Andy Kane sells a upgrade kit for the phenolic rudder and stabs. The kit includes snap in bearings and stainless tubes. Takes the slop out of the rear of the plane.

Vegas is a possibility.
I installed Dubro axles and the wheel pants are mounted so they slide over the wheel and axle and then get bolted on. There is no hole on the outside of the wheel pant that way. I also like to have the wheel pants removable for trailering.
I got the cross-over headers and another set of MTW 110's for canisters.
Let's see, you get yours next week. You'll be flying before I have my aileron servos done!!
Perry, sorry for turning this into a discussion on equipment instead of your build thread.
Later,
Dean

RE: Comp ARF Extra 260 Build Time . . .
Hi Perry,
I just got home late last nite from picking up my new Turquoise Kiwi 260 at the Sparks, NV warehouse. I opened up the box and inspected the plane...Absolutely flawless!!!! Every gluejoint is perfect and without excess..The molded parts are without excess resin..
This is the 19th plane I've owned built in the Thailand factory . I'd have to say that QC is at an all time high!!
I'll have some pics in a day or two...
Dave
