Joe Nall is about a month away and I can't wait to go down again this year. Last year was my first time there and it was just to awesome. But i can only stay till friday night since I dont have enough vacation days. but atleast i can make it.
Who's all going and what you bring to fly?????
I'll be bringing my 3 40%ers, Aeroworks Edge, Carden giles 300, and hangar 9 ultimate, and the big 9' oldtimer for night flying. last year we had the little one with the glowire system on. this year i built a huge 9' night flyer.

I have been getting ready to go since January. This will be my 1st time. Got bigger planes (35% AW Extra 260 and QQ Yak) and a vehicle to carry them in! Going up Wed night, staying till Saturday! Joe Nall or bust!

Try to rent yourselves a golf car. There is a lot of territory to cover there. You will walk your legs off. I am towing my trailer there

Going as a spectator my self. This will be my first time at Joe Nall. I'm taking my dad, and this will be his first model airplane event of any kind. I hope he'll enjoy it. That golf cart idea sounds like a great one too, as he has problems walking some times.

I'm going. I have to fly there so no planes for me just catching the tail end of Thursday/Friday.

I had debated for a while but I got a last minute travel deal of round trip airfare from Houston to Spartanburg/Greenville, 4 nights stay in a hotel, and 4 days of car rental for less than $600 so I couldn't pass it up.

Plan on doing some other sight seeing in the area on Saturday/Sunday after it's over.

i'll be there thursday through saturday. i went last year for the first time and was blown away. now i have to go every year so if you don't want to start a bad habit stay away, you have been warned! don't fall for that old line , try it one time you won't get hooked. believe me one hit of Joe Nall and you will sell the house, wife, kids, dog, or any thing you can get your hands on to get your Nall fix.

If anyone lives down by Joe Nall (greenville SC) PLEASE keep us posted on what the weather is going to be like down there!! I've got a 14 hour ride and hoping it isn't going to be a rain out.

Don't let wx concern you too much. I've been going for past 12 years and the days I've been there (on Thurs, Fri, Sat) I've never been rained upon, that I can remember. However, my suggestion is that you do a wx search on one of the wx web sites, using Greenville's (SC) zip code, or Woodruff's if you know it. This is what I do before I leave from here (VA). This will give you a 'heads up' of what's ahead for the days you are there. Just understand, though, that wx does (and will) change

We are going to be there from tues-sat so I'm sure we should be ok. I will do a wx check before we leave but I'm sure it will be a good week.

On a different note... I'm alittle disapointed Matt chapman and Mike Mancuso won't be flying there full scale cap and extra at Joe Nall[:@] I was looking foreward to them flying together. I wonder if they will have the full scale At6 there this year?

Great Mike! I'm looking forward to going (again!) The Matt Chapman and Mike Mancuso show last year was great! From what you wrote it sounds like you missed their show. Yes, too bad they won't be there this year. Haven't heard anything whether the AT6s, will be there again...but, they might. Couple years ago there was supposed to be three of them, but only two came as the other had a last minute problem. However, the two that did fly did a good job, though.
In any event, it will be fun just to be there!

I'm heading up there and will be doing some demos for BVM Jets with a big Ultra Bandit and will bring my own 2.6 to fly and enjoy throughout the event.

My brother is going and will probably be flying a bunch of different Composite-Arf planes as usual.

Hey Guys, as a spectator, do I need a ticket?---The Website talks about, "Only a 1000 tickets"---Never been there---

NO tickets required. However, you must be an AMA member... or, be with someone who is a member. Otherwise, you will no be allowed past the check in point.

The 1000 tickets you mention refer to the Friday night BBQ dinner, social, etc. They budget/plan for 1000 and after they are gone , there are no more. However, usually some tickets will become available during the week, and can be purchased from others who have have already bought them, who later find they will be unable to attend. Availability of such tickets are announced via the PA system during the day(s) as they become available.

Hey Badge , MIKE AND MATT are not going this year because they are competeing in the World Aerobatic Championships,,, not because they had to fly last year at 6-7 pm, and that was because of the weather ,,, the ceiling was low,, if not for the weather they usually fly at 2-3 pm,,,,,, anyway just wanted to clear that up,,
