Default 1/3 scale edge question

Hey guys,

After 5 years of flying nothing but Caps I am putting together a Hanger 9 Edge. I am installing a DA and realize I will have to cut for the spark plugs on both sides.

What kind of bothers me is that to make the engine set centered with the cowl, the head on the left side touches the cowl.

Has anyone that has put together this combo had the same situation? Have you had any ill effects?

Thanks, Marty

Odd. I have that combo ( H9 Edge/DA100) and while I had to cut out for the plugs the head is not touching the cowl. My engine is perfectly centered with the cowl at the spinner.

I have about 1/2 inch on the right and most definitely touching on the left. If I clear the head on the left then I set 1/4 inch off at the spinner.

I may try a combination of moving the engine an 1/8 inch and off set the cowl an 1/8 inch.

I have a B&B gear stiffener that has been laying around here for 20 years, I might try using it to stiffen the carbon gear in the corners.

Thank you for your reply.
