RE: Extreme Flight 88" Extra
Questions...
1. Would a DA85 be a good engine on this plane for high altitude flying? Wing loading be too heavy?
2. Is the blue color scheme the only option on the first orders?
3. Are there any still available on the initial order?
4. What is expected delivery of initial shipment?
5. Are the elevators counter balanced? Is a bit hard to tell in the pictures if it's a full counter balance or only partial.
6. Would the landing gear be tall enough to support the prop on the DA85?
7. Is the landing gear fiberglass, carbon fiber, aluminum or??????
8. Would it be possible for me to purchase one?, or are we beyond that?
Thanks
Barry

DA 85 on a 16 pound plane???
This is a DA 50 or Brillelli 60 plane again... that's basically what everyone is flying the Yaks with and this is lighter.
As far as I can see it is counter balanced.

RE: Extreme Flight 88" Extra
When I talked with Chris at Joe Nall a couple weeks ago, he hadn't decided which plane to put in production first, ie; the 50cc Extra or the 104" Yak. He had just received the 104" prototype the day before and had not done any construction on it. So, it is doubtful any are on the water yet. I voted he put the 104" Yak in production first just to set the benchmark for the 100cc class. But the Extra is a plenty fine plane and was great to watch him fly. He offered to let me fly it, but I didn't want to be the one doing injustice to the plane in front of the Joe Nall crowd. I was cautious just flying my 88" Yak there.

Ya I am sure it will. Just for me I want another Extra before then. My Cap is fine but I really miss an Extra.. was flying a 34% on Monday and I just miss how they fly.
Will probably be forced into getting something else before then and will just have to skip this one all together. I dont really want an army of 50cc planes. I don't know.. so many choices, not enough money

""sent one to everyone on his mailing list.""
Woops, I didn't make the cut. Well it will at least give me time to build my 80cc bird and get it some air time before I need to worry about credit card bills[8D] But I still think that the 88.5 inch Extra will be worth the wait.

RE: Extreme Flight 88" Extra
rdb127, you are on our email list. The email we sent out yesterday was to inform those on our waiting list for the Yaks that they would be arriving Thursday. I took the opportunity to mention the Extra in the email as well.
I am headed to China in 2 weeks to oversee the start of production on the 50cc Extras. With any luck we will beat the Septemebr date, but I know from past experience that it typically takes a little longer than anticipated.

Hey Chris,
Any thoughts on production colors besides the blue shown in the photo above?
Thanks. That is a nice looking plane and likely will be a big winner.

One more thing, I scan the Giant Scale forum for my educational experience regularly (have really learned a lot) and noticed that Extreme Flight has one of the most active forum following of the giant scale aerobatic gang. I believe it is a statement of the product and the commitment no matter the flavor, and I commend you on it.
