Default Extreme Flight 88" Extra

I thought I'd start a thread on this new plane officially announced at Toledo. It looks SWEET!

Chris, try to get some pics up on the http://www.extremeflightrc.com/ site ASAP. Share some details if you've got them!!

Thanks -

There's a thread on the FG site with a picture. Also check the YAK thread... someone uploaded there as well.

Hey guys, I am working the EFRC booth with Chris and let me tell you this Extra is sweet. Just take the 45" E Extra offering and expand it to 88.5" and you got it. Looks like he will offer the blue and red schemes, just like its little bro, and possibly the Vanquish scheme too. But nothing is firm at this point, he is hoping sometime during the middle to later part of summer for arrival, but again that is not firm either. He is making a trip over after SEFF and he will most likely get things in place then.

Side and bottom views, please. It's been strange being on a waiting list for a plane no one had seen, let alone flown yet. Late summer is tough, but probably worth the wait. T.

I am with you on the pics. Lets see all of this bird.
I agree about the waiting list. I have been on it since he announced it was coming. I can vouch for one thing though, you know that Chris has rung its guts out and it will fly just like any of the other EF planes.

The thing that I like the most is the fact that it says it will be around 16lbs. That is light than the Yak...........Can you say DA 50 all the way.
Any how if it has EF on it and Chris says that it flies great then my money is on it.

I think that the mid to late summer is just to keep anyone from getting there hopes up and not getting it when they think they will. I think that Chris just likes to take his time, make sure the planes are the best on the market and give a worse case scenerio outlook.

I just have a feeling that these planes will be here before that time line....Just my 2 cents.....

Scheme is the same as the electric extra on top and bottom.

This plane is sweet! I really liked the looks of the 45" and this would be perfect for a DL 50!

Default RE: Extreme Flight 88" Extra

i saw an update on this bird on the EF Yak build deal here on rcuniverse:

Just an FYI guys...

On the EF site, Chris has updates the news...

An excerpt says:

I am also awaiting delivery of the final production sample of our new 104 inch 100cc Yak-54. Like the 88 inch Yak, this one is HUGE compared to other offerings currently available and presents in the air like a 40% aircraft. It possesses all of the amazing flight characteristics of the 88 inch version and flies the slowest down lines I have ever seen. Look for this one to be available this Fall.

We debuted our new 88.5 inch 50cc Extra 300 at Toledo. This is the latest in our series of ‘extra large” 50cc offerings and is sure to be a hit within the aerobatic community. Our prototype with a DA-50 is 16 lbs and is an amazing performer. You can see this plane on the fight line and in action at the Joe Nall. More specs and videos coming soon. (Expecting shipment around end of summer)

So there you have it a somewhat formal announcement of a 104" Yak... I expect this will be a blown up version of this 88" (with proper 10cc design elements of course) but offering that huge size... I think Chris told me the cowl was 13.5" in diameter!

Man, I dont know if I can wait that long.
Guess it is time to find a filler plane for the mean time.
Jtec Radiowave Extra 300. Looks good should be here next month. 32% with a DA 85.
Sound good to me.

Anyone know what size standoffs should be used for the DA-50 on this plane?

Thanks.

I look forward to the video. Going by EF's track record alone tells me it is going to be one hell of a nice plane.

Chris, this thing is beautiful.! Will it have provisions for a pipe/canister like the new yak? The lines are just gorgeous. Great job. AUW?

Thanks Joe, the Extra does feature a full lengh pipe tunnel just like the Yak. This one with DA-50 and stock muffer is 16.38 lbs. 88 5/16" span, 87 inches long, 1450 square inches.
I put 5 more flights on it last night-I am in love!
