Default Flex header need to wrap with teflon....help

hey guys....I'm mounting up my BME 115 up on my 35% sukoi , and i have a set of the DA 100 ehader's with the flex. I need to wrap the flex with teflon tape of some kind so they don't leak. What teflon tape do i use? just the regular teflon stuff you get to wrap around a threaded bolt? The only kind i can find at like ace hardware is the regular plumber's tape , and it's about 3/8" wide..........will this work? Or where can i get the right stuff?

Like tom said that 'll work fine, just remember to start and finish about an inch before and after the"flex" to avoid leaks.

What, if any, glue/fastener do you use so it

No--It kinda sticks into the grooves of the flex part of the header if you pull it tight enough

my last pair of flex headers for da100 bought from ray in Maine came with a teflon wrap but is 1-1/4" wide double wrap - wondering where a guy could get a roll of this stuff it leaked in two spots for the first few flights then sealed up nicely - over 100 flights no leakes, adjustments, etc.

Check plumbing supply stores, not a home center item. Look in the phone book for plumbing contractors supply.

Regular 1/2 wide teflon tape works great, wrap it twice for a double layer and after about a 100 flights you can remove it and there will be no leaks. After I put on the teflon I wrap it with aluminum foil tape that heating contractors use on household heating systems, that keeps the teflon in place and also looks a lot nicer!

Teflon is a great material if you need high tempature resistance and low friction. It's the best for those apps. Found some at High-Tech Plastics
They haver spec sheets and different thicknesses.
