Bills right. You can get all the skinny on the new plane at www.extremeflightrc.com
Looks to be an 88" Edge 540. You know if it comes with the EF logo on it.......it has to be awesome.

Finally got my flying!! This plane is really rock solid. No coupling in KE, No wing drop at stall, It flies OOOHHH SOOOO slow. Any way I love this F@%@#%% PLANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The stock exhaust on my B60 is not providing enough Power for me Though. So after driving Ruddy crazy for a while I think I am going to drop 250 more on this project for a KS Exhaust. Now, 6600 on a Xoar 23 x 8, 7150 on a 22 x 8. I would really like to have 7500 on a 23 x 8. I have some Vess props on the way. Hoping I might see better results with them. Running 40 : 1, 2 gallons thru it, High needle 1 1/8 out, Low needle 1 3/16 out. 300 feet above sea level. B60 runs very, very well. Good transition from low mid and high. It idles very low. Just not enough Rpm's yet. I did flood it the first couple of flights though. I flipped the F&*& out of it and finally realized I flooded it. My shoulder hurt the next day after flipping so much! Then I pulled the plug and drained cyl. After that I have had no problem starting. 3 clicks of throttle, choke on until it pops. Then 4-5 flips choke off. It has been working good this way.
Thank You Chris, EF Kicks *****

Throw out the Xoars first off If you get a Mejzlik 22x8 you will be a lot happier for 3D. Actually first off.. congrats on the madian... then throw out the props The Vess should be ok as well but they are loud. Don't do a 22" Vess not enough load 23 A or B is where you want to be.

Happy flying!

Hey guys,

Can anyone recommend a good tail wheel bracket. Mine was destroyed today during a not-so-perfect landing. I wouldn'
t mind a little extra weight for the tail either.

Thanks

I came to post after flying today. Wow do I love this fricken plane. It does everything you want it to with the best behavior. I got the B60 starting pretty easy now. Awesome awesome awesome. The Xoar props work great for me. Carbon is too heavy and expensive. I have an MSC 22x8 waiting to try after I get enough fuel through it. The B60 is perfect for this plane.

PS: You could try the Graphtech tail wheel brackets.

I have the 22A coming for the brison 3.2 and the 23A arriving for the B60. Before I buy another prop I am going to buy the KS pipe then probably the Carbon 23 x 8 MEJ. Jake which Da header is the one I want? Also where is the link for your review that shows your Ks set up????

Its this kinda talk, that gets me interested again.Seems the thread was kinda quiet, with hardly anyone screaming with exitement.
I still plan on getting one, most likely over over the Winter now. They should be on their 3 or 4rth run by then, with most small bugs worked out.Not really anything on the market that I really want besides this one.

To own one of these is a real treat. It's like going out and buying yourself the best, and every time you go fly, it's a total awesome experience. People that see this plane at my club have lots of great comments when they see it in action. Today a guy I didn't know just drove up in his car while I was flying. After I landed all he said was "that was quite a show...I thought it was a real plane at first". Another guy earlier said "that was quite a workout" after I landed. You just gotta love owning one of these planes. It gets lots of attention at the field. I will own many more of these EF planes.

So how does the (your) Edge compare to flying behaviour and ability of the 300 now?

The Extra is more neutral, has bigger control surfaces, seems to have a lower wing loading. It rolls more axial. Knife edge is better, especially high alpha. It wobbles less in rolling harriers and is easier in general to fly. Of course I have a 60 in the Extra vs a 50 in the Edge so the power to weight of the Extra is much better. It's a better quality ARF, everything lines up (my rudder hinges were drilled off center and made my rudder crooked on my Edge). The control horns are better and I prefer the titanium links over CF rods. The covering doesn't wrinkle so much like the Edge. It's just a few notches higher in quality. I'd say it looks cooler too. I think my Edge does better, tighter, inverted flat spins and might be a little easier to hover. But all this could be that my CG is a little too forward on the Extra and the Edge CG is perfect (more aft).

All this is true but the Edge is still a very nice plane. I like having them both. No plans to sell my Edge but it may start to fall apart from age (and abuse). Almost at the end of the third season. I've never kept a plane this long so we'll see (sold many crashed a few).

PS: I came close to crashing my Extra a few times today at the club fun fly. Phew, better take it easy or I'll have an Extra no more. It was gusty out there too. Total cross wind coming into the pitts. It was less than ideal.

Thanks,a very fair an honest reply.
I do like my BME Edge, even with smoke,it still floats around really well, although the wingloading is higher than it could be. Sometimes I get a bit of a stall, when I crank on it,but it does everything quite well.I putt around in it like a foamie and bring it in right on the deck.Vertical is excellent, pulls steady from a Hover.

But I think I am ready to step up the performance and looks to the EF 300,somewhat like buying a high end BMW after driving a Camaro around

Flew my Extra 300 this weekend and ran another gallon of lawnboy premix though the Area 51 (2 gallons total). Switched to AMZOL 100 to 1 late Sunday. My Area 51 turned up to 7200 without leaning the highend. This engine gained 400 rpms and the plane/motor combo is performs great. I will lean this motor a little next week and keep you people informed.

Oh ,I know..
I could swap all the stuff straight over,be bigger ,maybe lighter and have more wing, with more control authority, add some precision and looks at the same time.
How could I go wrong? [8D]

Lighter may be tough. I'm at 18 pounds built pretty light (light engine, one rx batt, no pilot, no instrument panel). The Edge is 17.5 pounds also built pretty light. They are very close in weight actually.
