Anyhoo, back to the build. HOrizontal stab.

Glued HSSB and HSSA together to form sheeting and pin down on the trailing edge over the plans. Before pinning it down, laid some tape down over the plans where shown.

Then laid HSGB across and glued in place.

Then inserted ribs and glued to HSGB, but did not glue onto the sheeting, HS2 through HS7 making sure to glue the ply doublers onto H4 through H7 beforehand.

Took HSLEB and glued it across the leading edge to each rib. Took HSTEC and inserted it onto the notches on the ribs at the trailing edge. Then I folded up the sheeting and glued in place to the ribs using epoxy and med ca to tack in place.

Insert the elevator phenolic tube and glue in place.

Then the second set of sheeting is made and glued to the other side.

Glue HSLEA onto HSLEB and the sand the leading edge rounded to HS2 and HS7

Glue HSTEB to HSTEC and HSTEA to HSTEB and bevel using a sanding bar

Repeat the process for the other horizontal stab.

Finally glue 1/8" ply HS8 to HS7 on each stab. Make sure you glue them so you have a right and a left!

And...done.

How about Airwild buying kits off of Greg and selling them? Not everybody likes an ARF.

Really not my call but if there is enough interest, then perhaps Airwild would agree to it?

Never know. There is alot of people out there that like to build and let's face it, there is not alot of top quality, reasonably priced, newer type construction kits out there. I'm enjoying your build regardless. Keep it coming[sm=thumbup.gif]

I agree, there is a lot of people out there that like to build, but not enough to pass the joy and knowledge to our kids and grand kids. That is one of the reasons why I started CAM. You can see the respect in their eyes and the wheels turning when they watch you in the shop creating. A lot more questions than just, can you buy me this or that from some place else. I am going to do my part, and that means top quality, reasonably priced, and newer type construction kits.

Send me a PM of what you would like to see cut, because I am making a list.

Regards,

Greg

Default Looking for a 50 cc edge 540

Hi, I am going to build a 50 cc Edge 540. Last summer I ordered a DLE 55 cc engine for an Pilot RC Extra 300 I bought new from a guy for $250! So I found a DLE 55 cc engine online and bought one, Four days later the Fed Ex driver delivered three engines! After confirming that I only paid for one I sent an email saying they sent three engines and received no reply. So I need a plane to build this winter! So I would like to get information on purchasing the plans and the kit! Take care!

IS THE 50 CC EDGE 540 A SHORT KIT? WHAT IS THE PRICE FOR THE KIT AND PLANS? IS THERE A BUILD MANUAL? I AM LOOKING FOR A 50CC PLANE TO BUILD THIS WINTER. I BOUGHT A DLE 55 FROM AN ONLINE DEALER IN AUGUST FOR AN EXRA 300. ON THURSDAY THE ENGINE CAME. ON FRIDAY I RECEIVED TWO MORE! I SENT THEM AN EMAIL AND GOT NO REPLY. MY LUCK BEGAN WHEN i BOUGHT THE EXTRA 300. IT IS A PILOT RC ARF AND THIS DUMB KID SOLD IT BRAND NEW, STILL WRAPPED IN THE BOX FOR $250! LET ME KNOW ABOUT THE KIT AND PLANS, I LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU!
