Just can't make myself change. I have so many 73mhz receivers that I don't see the need to change. Our flying site is secure and no other flying within miles.

RE: Lanier 94
No, I have had a number of them starting with a z-26, z38, z45, then a ZDZ 80 in a sukhoi from Hangar 9, then a 3w75 in a giles 202 and on and on....This is my first twin but have flown everything from glow to gas to turbines. forgot to add that I had Ducted fan jets and gas helicopters. Seems like I have flown just about all sizes except the really giant scale. I don't fly pattern at all, mostly sport and 3d. I really enjoy other flyers comments on building and flying and like to share as many ideas as I can. I believe that if someone has tried something and it works, I will use that method and not re-invent the wheel.

By the way, she hunts with me and rides her own motorcycle too.
Funny to see a tiny 105 lbs. chick ripping down the road on a 1300cc bike.
I am a lucky man........

Hey Meekskin,
One thing I would do ( if you didn't see in earlier post ) reglue the anti rotation pins in the wings. I had one fall out during a flight. It was bouncing around in the fuse. Two more were loose. I also drilled mine and put a hairpin clip in them for flight.

RE: Lanier 94
Update, on the yak,....fuel and smoke tank installed....everything is finished except putting on the cowl and decals. I will be taking it out to the flying site this weekend to start the engine for the first time. I won't be flying the yak this time because I need to set up all surface travel along with going over everything to make sure I didn't forget to do some little thing. Need to do thing like secure the servo wires, balance and finish my dash. Will be taking pics and posting them later.

Had to redo the fuel and smoke tank. Just didn't like the way it came out. Bought some new tanks 24oz. and have put them in under the wing tube but can't figure out how to secure them. can you tell me how you did yours. It doesn't seem a ply plate will allow the tanks to slip under the wing tube so not sure what to do.

RE: Lanier 94
I made a 1/8" play mounting plate for two 24oz. tanks side by side. I'll look at it tonight and see if I put foam or anythinig under then.
Here are two pictures when I was building it, Hope it helps.

2robinhood, did you get a chance to see if you used any foam on the ply plate for the fuel tanks. Also, how in the world did you attach the plate. glue, screws or ?

I just looked.
I glued balsa onto the formers on each side of the wing tube to make a shelf to glue the ply to. I epoxied the to the balsa sheelves and the formers ( ply platform between the formers ). I then almost made the same thing to go from the front wing tube former to where the landing gear mounts. I built that up with a balsa block to make both pieces of ply one flat level surface. The two 24 oz. tanks fit very snug under the wing tube, but they do fit. Sorry but these are about the best pictures that I can take without ripping everythiing apart.
I flew mine again today. When I got home and was carrying it into the basement I caught the tailwheel bracket on the door frame and riped it completely off.

Thanks for the pics and the information. I thought thats what you did but didn't want to glue anything in until I heard from you. I will build that tomorrow and take the plane out tuesday to start the engine. Probably will fly the maiden this weekend. I know what you meant about hangar rash, like taking the wheel off. If it wasn't for me droping , bumbing or hitting my planes, they would look pretty good.

RE: Lanier 94
robinhood, I have the cowl drilled and mounted. Now I need to cut out the bottom for ail flow and cut out holes for the muffler tubes. Will have some pics tomorrow. Then need to make some baffles and attach the canopy. Ran the engine for the first time Tuesday and it ran so bad, I had to call Jody at valley view and get some info. The low and high neddle setting was 3 turns open and once I closed them down to 1 to 1 1/4 turn open, the 100 started running good. Before I made the change, the left cylinder would not run. Getting close to the first flight.
