greatone - i had no problems with the 330 - it is a great flyer - like the best plane i ever had - i hit a barbed wire fence - the wing is like a chainsaw hit it - the wing can be repaired - but if i can a wing i would go that way - i am using a g-62 in my 330 it fly great for me - thanks for the interest - bill -wrcflyer

Sorry to hear about your accident. The reason I was being nosiy was if there was an issue that guys still flying that plane would have a heads up. Finding another wing will probably be a chore, as they sold every one they had. I just wish I had know the plane was going to be that good, I would have bought a dozen!!LOL!!

Thanks for the reply, hope something works out.

BTW: As and aside, I had a GP Christen Eagle, that I mangled up pretty good, both wings and a small amount of fuselage damage, and I rebuilt that, recut the feathers and all. It took me nearly as long to cut the feathers as it did to rebuild the plane! So it can be done! Good Luck.

Hey, learned, I'm sure you have already tried it, but sometimes if you put pressure on the top and bottom, and then heat the covering, on either side, you can make the covering pull the warp out? Sorry if this has already been tried, or you have been advised about this before. I have a flying friend that found the wing on a giant Ugly Stick was warped and that was how he took the warp out.

Yep it worked great for about 90% of it. I even removed all the covering and soaked the wood with a water solution and left it sandwiched between two boards i got 75% of the warp out that way. Then recovered and shrunk carefully that got about 15% more out. I still fly it with 10% screwed up and once I trimed the rudder it is not a big deal. But it's not perfect.

Even with the screwed up rudder I still love flying it. It is a blast!

Sounds like you've done about all that can be done, short of building a new one. Have you given that any thought? It wouldn't be that hard, considering you have a pattern. This comes from a man who has built a lot of scratch built planes, it's not that difficult. Like you I have a little streak of perfection in my genes!!LOL!!

Yes, I did consider it. But I can't build worth a crap! I do have a guy at the field that is a great scratch builder. I think I will ask him to make me a new one over the winter.

Sounds like a plan to me. The hardest thing will be to replace the covering, even that too can be done, with a little patience.

Good luck, it is a good flying plane.

I still haven't had time to put mine together... but I have advice on how to get rid of the warp....

If it is the trailing edge...... Cut a goove with a Dremel down the legth of the warp....

1. place a carbon rod in the groove for fitment
2. mix with some gorilla glue
3. place back into groove and frame it up with some wax paper on glued side and wood on both sides
4. place 2 or more clamps on the wood frame and squeeze untill flat...
5. let dry overnight..
6 sand out extra glue, and cover with a balsa filler or a thin sheet of balsa... done

You could cover the hole with a sheet of balsa (cut to fit) proir to clamping, that would save quite a bit of time...

Good luck..

I just acquired one of these and it was missing the manual. Any chance of getting a copy of yours. I have the manual for the 94" Yak but, I'm not sure it is the same.

Gave to the guy that bought her a few years ago. That "lana9072" a few posts above is close enough
