Check it out. The DA-85 fits very nicely in the cowl. Look at the size of those stabs compared to a 102" QQ yak, WOW.

Eraser ... please put on the wings, canopy .. and prop the wheel pants by the wheels and post a pic. My plane is in storage .. but I'm anxious to see what "ALL" the sum of its parts look like together. Here's a pic of is 87" brother ... should look similar except for the scheme.

Nice pics eraser that engine and cowl make a nice pair. What size standoffs did you use?

Standoffs are 1" exactly. This leaves about 3/16" for prop clearance. I'm very impressed with this model. Its going to be very light, and the hardware is usable. I didnt use the wheels, or fuel tank though.

Maxun, ... When you click on reply .. at the top click on the image icon. Place your cursor between the two sets of image brackets .. and paste in the URL address of the pic. The source pic must be hosted online, ... not in your hard drive.

Here's an example ....

eraser,

You are a fast builder. Yours looks like it's ready to go. Be the first to give us your flight report. Many thanks!

Eraser ... I've never seen anyone assemble a plane so fast. I sweat and wrestle over every little detail for fear that something might be a little bit off ... then I go back and search the threads to see if anyone has posted an opinion related to the task at hand. In the end I wind up adding wasted and unnecessary time to the build.

Ha, yeah ive been accused of building fast. Part of the reason is I want to get it up in the air soon. Because if it flys good I might get another one, or the Edge before Tower runs out. If it flys bad, oh well only $299.00. Actually I'm not done yet I still need 2 aileron servos and need to let the canopy dry, Will fly it on Sunday.

Doesn't the stab look to high? Guys, there's a reason these things are selling so
cheap. Can't wait to hear some flying results.

ALL of the control surfaces are absurdly GINORMOUS, with tons of throw (don't know why they didn't just go with fully moveable elevator and stab). This plane has 3D written all over it!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are selling so cheap because the Lanier line is being discontinued ... and Great Planes doesn't want to spend the next year(s) with them languishing in their warehouses. Its also my unsubstantiated belief ... that after all Laniers are gone ... some of these most popular designs may be converted back over to the Goldberg brand name since they are truly Goldbergs anyway ... manufactured in Goldbergs factory for the Lanier brand name. If you've noticed .. GP is having a blowout sale on Laniers 21st Century ARFs .. while the same but smaller version Goldberg ARFs are at regular prices. The 67" Goldsberg Edge 540 is selling for almost the same price as the 94" Lanier Edge 540 ... and they are both the same design, (Lanier Upsized) .. and built in the same factory.

the 330 is not a mid wing plane.this gives the illusion of high tail placement.actually one of the only scale features.i am sure from what i have heard that it will be a great flying plane.cant wait to get mine going.
