RE: Best 50cc plane for 3D?
THANKS!
I dolled it up with markings from Kirby Kustom Graphics.
I LOVE this plane!! It is easy to transport, easy to assemble at the field, and requires an occasional waxing at the field (no wrinkles, no sags)
The DA50 is one sweet engine and the MTW 75 canister makes it so quiet, it's almost like an electric.

RE: Best 50cc plane for 3D?
Hi guys I'm also looking for a 50cc. The only problem is I need one that will do 3D, not too bothered about IMAC. The only problem is that I am 14 and can't afford really expensive planes. I also live in the UK, so there has to be an importer or someone who sells tham in the UK. Does anyone know if I can get a 3D 50cc for under £400? I can get a Wild Hare extra 300 or Edge for £395.

This is an older thread. A lot of new planes have come out since this thread. If you are looking for the best 3Ding 50cc plane made, get one of the new extremeflight 88" EDGE 540T's. Look on Extreme Flight's website for the list of distributors in Europe. www.extremeflightrc.com

Weighs 16lbs ready to fly less fuel. Outstanding flat spins, and does everything else fine. Better flying than it should be. Also...a little different from the regular stuff out there. One of my favorite planes to fly truthfully....and I've pretty much flown them all.
Thanks

RE: Best 50cc plane for 3D?
3DHS aj slick is a very nice plane i must say..This plane floats like kite and is powered very well with a dle55..It actually flies simply better and easier than any plane on g5 simulator.
The price i thinnk now for the 50cc slick is about 600 or a bit more..
when you add up how this plane flies and the fact that
One of if not the biggest 50cc plane on the market
Floats like a kite, and is incredibly stable in rolling harriers, harriers ect, knife edge are crazy easy with huge fuse.
Plane comes with all hinges , hinged and sealed. accept rudder"which is real quick and painless, and saves shipping cost
comes with wingbags and elevator bags
Comes with Carbon fuber main gear and bracket for tail wheel
Comes with top of the line hardware from a-z.
Carbon fiber wingtubes,ect.
Build videos available on site, good 5 part build videos for most there models available, showing tips, and step by step process assuring sucess
And you can choose from a couple color schemes, and if im not mistaking when they re open there store in septemeber, there will be new schemes available for the 89 slick"this was rumor to me"
A combination of the elevators bolting in , ailerons/elevator hinged and sealed and the overall just high attention to detail and excellent customer service i have dealt with make this the best 50cc plane imo
| Gotta say ,, some of those extreme flight planes have flown very well as well
I have owned owned only one Aeroworks plane. It was claimed to be a 40-60 size plane. and after purchasing it i realized quickly that this was some serious lies to sell a plane. However after i got over that and planted a saito 91 on it its been a nice and heavy "but well built durable plane for me.And really performs nice as well, nothing bad to say other than the false advertisement....With 3dhs ive noticed you get facts and people wanting you to know exactly what you are getting and there proud for you to open there box and see there masterpieces.
Atleast thats what i felt by tallking to them and seing how everything that comes or is surrounded with there planes is the best of best..and it transforms on the flying field ..
Had several people fly the slick ..And all they could do was chuckle, even had some order one on there laptops on the spot.

RE: Best 50cc plane for 3D?
If you really want a 3D plane, there is no better than a 3D Hobby Shop AJ Slick with a DA-60. I have a DA-60 and the difference between it and a DLE-55, and a DL-50 is amazing. It swings a Mej 24-10 and pulls 41 pounds of thrust.

My only comment on the 3DHS Slick is that by the time you buy it and a DA60, you could have bought a 100cc plane. And the size is so big that transportation becomes an issue, just like a 100cc plane.

True, they are big and that is why they fly like they do. You could fly it on a DLE-55 and save some money and it would still be great, it is just the DA-60 takes it to the awesome level (I have both engines). The OP asked what is the "best 50cc plane for 3D" and it is hard to argue the AJS is not at the top of anyone's list for that crown. Here is a video of Joe Smith flying the 89 inch AJS with a DLE-55:
