Finally something from DA that will compete with the DLE 55. I was getting tired of DLE 55's performing better than my DA 50 that I had just paid twice the money for.

after a summer of flying the DLE 55 i would not go back to the DA50,due to price and performance of the 55.i like the looks of the new DA 60 but don't like paying 670.00 for it,time will tell if it is a real power house i might half to have it.

I still haven't decided where mine's going. Originally I thought about completely replacing my 50cc bird altogether, but somewhere deep down hidden from view is this WarBird idea and the new 60 MAY find it's way into that AeroWorks P-51. I got the inverted Pitts type muffler for the 60 and that airplane from Jtec a couple of days ago thinking it'd work for either application as well. Never used Jtec stuff before but this looks nice.

I thought the same thing about going to the 60 on my EF Yak this summer. The more I flew the Yak I saw were it could hold off as the power was there on my Brison 3.2 with a Vess prop that made it all sweet for my 3d time. My 60 is going on my Slick that is stilll being put together.....

I agree nothing preforms like a DA......... but I would not pay that price when you can get a DLE for less money and still have money left over! Alot of people are short on money right now and I think this is the wrong time of the year to release something like this.....but then again, is there ever a right time of the year?

I lov my DA-85 that was my 1st DA after having many other brands of gas motors. 3w, brison, zdz, rcs. I have never had a dle but do plan to get that 20 for a some of the stuff that i have glow right now. I am not wrapping up into the brand and could care less what ever one runs. if a plane is in the air and the flyer is jamming and the motor is tune correctly all is well for me to watch and the flyer to enjoy himself. So lets not turn this thread into i spent this or that.....

Interesting...Its listed in Fly RC in the advertisements, but not yet on the DA website - unless they did it this morning....I would love to have a reason to get another DA...I hope they knock it outta the park.

While DA is well known for it's excellent CS, they are probably almost as well known for not keeping their website updated.... lol

No kidding, me too! I had to re-bind all my planes because of a Tx change. It is kinda cold, but the DLE-20 started and ran well, the Syssa started in like 3 flips and ran great, but the OS was a ***** to start, then finally ran. While I was trying to get it running, I am in a bad mood, swearing at it, and my wife comes out and says how come you don't fly that pretty one (EG Gary Ward MX2) very much? I said because I f-ing hate this engine. If I do get it to run, it has a good chance of dead sticking on me (3x so far, I am lucky I only cracked the L/G on one dead stick). She said, so what's the point of having it if it is not any fun? Just go get a different engine that does run! So, she now has given me the green light, (and I would have done it anyway), but it is nice when it is her idea!

I don't think it's a matter of not updating their website. Dave has a loyal group of followers that have not switched to Chinese engines. Most of these people will find out from fellow modellers. Dave manufacturers engines in the US and does so with precision quality control. He can't make them as fast as the Chinese and maintain that quality. He is probably selling to his loyal customers first and does not want a flood of orders he cannot fill immediately. If he has a long waiting list of backorders it will generate negative comments on forums like this and that is not good for business. We are all DA owners. We know about the new engine and have a chance to get to the front of the line. Let the magazine readers wait.

I hate to be a beta test site, but I have had it with the OS. Even when it does run, the upside down front carb drools gas into the cowling when you choke it. At least with a rear reed valve motor, the gas is ingested into the crankcase, not have to have the vapor work its' way through the crank, then into the crankcase. The DA60 has at least been running for a while now with the DA120, so I am not worried about it, but I just want to get it in the air soon, before the snow makes it difficult.

it (the 60) has been tested and it sounds very good. mine shipped today. i am very excited! this is my second DA engine. I will be hard pressed to buy another brand after how they have treated me. i also like the 3w and dle engines! hell anything that flies good should be given praise!
