Python or Ultimate?
So I'm looking into getting a Bipe, in the 50cc range to start. Iwant to do Extreme aerobatics and 3D. My question is, while I know they're are different airplanes, I'm wondering if anyone has any experience that would shed any light on either one being better at this type of flight?
For example, I've owned and flown many Edges and Yaks, and while they're both great crafts, for my favorite stuff, the Edges always were better. The Yaks tended to be better floaters, the Edges were always better tumblers and turners. Although on windy days I liked the Yaks better because they were more like kites than the Edges. For example, my Edges Ican get to knife edge spin literally like there is a pole going thru the wing tip to tip, slow or fast with little to no effort. My other planes, well, you have to "play around" with the sticks and throttle to find the sweet spots, and even then, ou only get the diagnal orientation or they flatten out. So Iguess I'm asking which one is better suited? I am not asking which plane is easier to fly, or makes me look better (only practice is good for that), rather which is the better performer in terms of aerobatics/3D, or does it matter? RE: Python or Ultimate?
I looked at both planes when shopping for a 50cc bipe too. Lots of perspectives to consider...cost, brand, style of flying, what you want. I am more a sport pattern guy, so I went with the AW Ultimate. I do like the the Pitts/Python too and probably would be happy with it also. I figured the Ult would be more rail like, and the Pitts a good tumbler. I think the Ult can do 3D if I knew how. So far I love the plane because I can do any pattern style flying, but I have also begun harrier, harrier rolls and hovering it. Not good at them yet, but the plane is way more capable than my abilities, so I hope to get much better. I think when more guys weigh in, there will an even split on preference between the two. I don't think you can go wrong with either one. Good luck on your decision! Jon
