Phaeton 90 Wing incidence

Hi there!

Can anybody tell me what the wing incidence should be for this aircraft?

The plans don't mention the incidence, so I put in about 1 1/2 degree of positive incidence. Climbs like hell under power.

Anybody know?

thanks,

Got one from a swap meet in the bones. Need to know the CG also.

phone or email BUSA and Im sure they will tell you......nice people to deal with normally.Plans are avail for the Phaeton from them I think.Normally its very important that the top wing in particular has a degree or two of positive incidence.

wing incidence

sounds like your stab is sitting on 0 incidence.on just about all my bipes i have had to add 2 or 3 degrees of positive stab .that should help hold the tail up like most bipes like it.you should also make sure that the lower wing is at 0.the top wing can be anywhere between 0 and 2.5 ,but no more.

Phaeton 90 Wing incidence

I had one that I flew for several years 'til I lost it to a downwind, inverted dead stick. Ran out of ideas, altitude and airspeed at the same time.
The plans don't call for any incidence. Mine climbed like crazy too but I just like the previous poster said, it was so much fun that I just never bothered to correct it. I just changed the trim with the throttle. Kinda like the real thing. I balanced mine at the leading edge of the lower wing. The plans call for it to be further aft, but the leading edge of the bottom wing is where I wound up moving it too. I powered mine with a Mac weedeater conversion. It's a great flying plane. Might build another one day.
