BME 110 props

What props are everyone running on the 110? any rpm numbers? I am going to start with a menz 27x10 for break in. Engine is on a H9 33% Edge.

RE: BME 110 props

He man. How far along are you. My buddy Mike is gonna switch to a BME 28x10 pretty soon. He likes them BME props. The bite pretty hard. I think they are pretty comparable to a 3W prop. Right now for break in he is using a 3W 27x10 cause he has broken the last 2 BME 27x10. All you have to do is turn a little sharp on the sukhoi and the gear flexes enough to let the prop hit. Let me know when you get that Edge goin. You can bring it to our big bird Flyin in October.

Tim_Indy breaks his in with a 27x10NX and has a Biela 28x10 on it now!
Very nice!

RE: BME 110 props

Thanks, my DA pulled a Prince 27x10 and the 106 a little better on the same prop. I am hoping to pull a P-Tip 28x10 over 6K.

RE: BME 110 props

I started with an Air Wild NX 27x10 and moved to a Mejlik 28x10. It did a great job, but as the engine got stronger, it got too noisy, so I went to an Air Wild NX 28x10. Great prop, pulled well, quieter than the Mejlik. After a few more gallons, the engine got stronger and the NX28x10 got loud.

I had tried a 28x10 Biela before and the engine didn't like it. Tried it again, and it's now my favorite prop. My 110 turns it about 6500 rpm static, and it's quieter at ALL throttle settings than anything else I've tried. It's wide chord blades "bite" better, and it hovers at a lower throttle setting and rpm, and pulls my 30 pound WH Extra out of the hover with authority and acceleration. Kinda speaking softly and carrying a BIG stick!

Thanks for the info Tim, did you use the factory needle settings when you first ran the engine?

Where could i order a Biela prop?
Tim_Indy. Are you using stock mufflers?
What oil mixture are you using?
Also, how many gallons do you have through yours?

I am just finishing my 5th gallon of lawnboy. I will be switching to synthetic shortly.

RE: BME 110 props

You can get beilas at Aircraft International. I am using a 27x10 menz for break in and its the loudest ripping sound I have ever heard on an airplane, definitly not enough prop, going to go with a NX 27x12 for the rest of the break in.

RE: BME 110 props

Crash90, I'm using the Pefa LL cannisters (same setup that Kris used, and I'm now starting to get the same numbers Kris got with props). They are HUGE, but fit nicely in my Wild Hare 330, and the combined 110/cannister weight is still 3 ounces LESS than a DA100 with stock mufflers.

I use Amsoil 100-1 oil mixed at 80-1, and I've got 14 gallons of fuel through the engine.
