How much does your 30% Carden Cap 232 weigh ???
 

I am wondering how much the average Carden 30% Cap weighs .
Lighter is always better ,but!!!!! at what cost?
Let me have your #'s with engine and exhaust configurations .
I know mine needs a diet just to improve 3D but overall flies very well .
How about YOURS ??

23 lbs with 3w78B2 and std in cowl mufflers....flys well even at that weight but not sure about 3D work.....guess one would need to be selective in what was attempted?

I just bought a used one recently. i've not flown it yet
I weighed everything and it all came out right at 20 lbs.
with a 3w70 and pitts style muffler.

I cant wait to fly this thing as it is my first gasser.[sm=thumbup.gif]

Mine was ~ 22lbs with a BME 102. Awesome power for this plane and great 3D performance. It was a blast to fly and I regret selling it after 500+ flights. It started out with a 3W70B2 and was a very marginal 3D performer. It was also a pound or so heavier and I wasn't very please with it. The BME dropped the weight and gave a huge boost in power. It made all the difference. Fit in the cowl with no mods. I highly recommend one of the BME's for this airframe ... any other 100cc engine would likely be too heavy to work as well on this airframe.

I have flown one with a BME 76 twin. It was 23 lbs... You should try to stay lighter that that for sure :eek:. The plane torque rolled at at least 3/4 throttle and 3D was far from being the best I have seen. My 11 lbs 1/4 scale cap 232 3Ds better that that plane at that weight-power.

Mine weighs 20lbs. 4.8 brison twin stock mufflers and two jr 1800 packs. I lightened it a little in the build in the motor box area. Over 1000 flights on it. fun airplane.

I bought mine used RTF @21lbs. w/ 2 6volt 1650mh nimh pack on RX and 4.8volt 1650mh nimh on ign. I have since took off the standard gear, added carbon landing gear, and duel fromeco 2400mh RX packs and 2400 ign pack. It should come in just under 20lbs. w/ 3W-75usi. batteries alone took off 7oz

What kind of control throws are you guys using in your setups & what expos? Are any of you using/ finding it necessary to use ail diff to get axial rolls?

I'm finding that my 3w70b2 really honks this thing around...unlimited vertical so maybe mine weighs less....just used a bathroom scale...all i had.
