CA Models CPLR 29% Edge 540 - flown one yet?

I'm currently looking for an Edge for my Brillelli 46GT. There are a lot of decent offerings out there but I thought this plane was really interesting:

87" span
78.7" length
Weight: 13.6#

It's hard to buy into a RTF weight of under 14#, maybe that's just the airframe, but that would be insane for an 87" wing and the 46 would do great in a set up that light.

Anyone have this plane or know anything about it?

I have been considering this plane also. There is a video on their site and the plane appears to 3D well (appears stable in high alpha). I also like the covering scheme.

flymeaway,
I would like to see thoughts and ideas on the Edge 540 and the Extra 330 kits and Arfs. There were a couple threads 2 or 3 years ago when Aeroworks was handling the C A products. I purchased the 34% Extra 330 kit. Both are designed by great flyers.

Darn, Maybe it's true and they're using that new "micro balloons" construction technique?![sm=wink_smile.gif]

I built the 27% Extra a few years ago. It was a ton of work but taught me a great deal. I remember a long thread on that bird and people seemed to really like the way it flew. I however am not really that impressed with mine. I must have built it a bit too heavy (16 #'s) for the Brillelli 46 as it didn't seem to track good and would flop out of maneuvers unexpectedly. I ripped the gear off (again) so I'm looking for a lighter bird for the 46. My 72" Aeroworks Yak hands down is a better flying plane than my Extra. Of course, much of the way it flies could very well be my fault.

I've never owned a CA ARF so I'm not sure how they fly.

Has anybody built this airplane (CA Model CPLR Edge 540 29 %) ?
I have one kit and some doubts about the assembling.

Hi,
I just bought a used capl edge 540 29% arf and it has a manual, but I question where they say the cg should be. They say 230 mm measured at the root rib starting from the trailing edge of wing whic is not even near the wing tube. Does anyone know where the cg should be and where I could find part for this plane. I have not had any luck. Thanks Bob
