Help with large scale setup.

I’m in the process of expanding my knowledge into setups for larger scale aircraft I have a scenario I’d like you to consider, get recommended setup, and answer a few questions maybe.

What would I need to setup a redundant system for a plane with the following requirements; and can your setup run off a nine channel radio(2.4Ghz) 11 digital servos (2 on each half aileron and elevator, and 2 on rudder, plus a throttle servo and a payload drop servo. So what would your initial recommendations be so I can ask more questions. Thanks.

B,

You might contact R Richey at smartfly rc. He should be able to answer your question, or at least give some help.

Hope this helps.

RE: Help with large scale setup.

This is not hard, let me use a Giles 202 I have as an example. It only has one rudder servo and no payload drop but it does have 4 aileron servos, 2 elevator, rudder, throttle, and choke. I have programable Hitec servos which helped. I do have everything in a single 7! channel with a DX7 which has much less programing than almost all 9ch radios. I have a Y in each wing and one wing goes to aileron, the other to flaps on the receiver. Use the programer to match the servos. One elevator goes into the elevator ch. and the other in the 7th channel (I should have programed it reverse and Y'd it to the levator channel, rudder to rud, throttle to th, an I have choke to gear whicj you woul pu the payload servo into.

Granted I have the programer but I have done others without it. I also have two NiMh packs going though two switches into two seperate pors on the receiver for a little safety.

RE: Help with large scale setup.

I set my dad's cub up the same way, evan set up his giles 202..

everything was matched with my programmer (hitec) and I used simple y's everywhere.. the only thing different was I used lipo's instead of nimhs

worked great for me and I have never seen a glitch in the system yet

and its a cub so you wont be working the servo's to the max unless you fly it like hempel does :D

and yes a powerbox or smart would be nice but not needed they make set-up a breeze.. I run the powerbox champion and setup is super quick
