Default 31% Exclusive Modellbau Ultimate 50cc kit

Hi everyone,

I have been in the market for a "kit" of the Ultimate biplane in the 70" wingspan/50cc size range for a long time. I belive it has been and still is one of the best flying biplanes around. But to my dismay they are few to be found! I have found two on the market which may be sutable for my needs. The first is the Pro-Line Aerobatic Aircraft Ultimate offered by Precision Cut Kits, it is an "older design", slightly smaller at 63"WS, slightly heavy (14-17lbs)by modern standards. The delux kit sell's for $475. Not too bad for whats included. However, my more recent finding has been the 31%(1.85M) Ultimate by Exclusive Modellbau from Germany. When you look closely at what is offered in the kit you can easily see it is very high quality, very up to date (modern design), very light weight for it's size. The finished lines on this kit look fantastic! My one problem is it's cost, at $775 + S&H, I think it is a little over priced. I beleave you get what you pay for in todays modern world so if it cost this much for the reserch and developement of the kit then it must be worth it? MY main question for everone is, does anyone have any expirence with this company or this particular kit in general? Are there any good kit's out there I may have missed? Thanks for any opinions and helpful info you may have. I have included a few pictures of the kit for your viewing.

The Pro-LINE kit, offered by PCK, is the nicest flying Ultimate that I have seen. Designed before the days of 3-D, the model performs standard aerobatics very well.

If this is your style of flying, you won'r be disappointed in the Pro_line Ultimate.

Hi Gerard, did you make a choice yet?

I was once the proud owner/builder of one of these Modelbau kits. Sadly lost in a mid air.
High quality throughout and very easy to fly.
points I can remember

Build
instructions were in German, so I had some trouble in translation
birch ply required white gluing so patience required (no cyno)
v high quality glass parts, inc uc
built up wings are made using a polystrrene jig
easy set up with DA 50 and, stock header and pipe into a silicon tube lined set of wirewalls
fitted in the back of the car
difficult to spray the canopy/front deck to colourmatch - need to prime with white first (the plastic is smoked)

pm me if you would like a video!

Would rebuild it if I had the time and cash!

Gerard,

I have several of these kits and they are some of the best produced kits in the world. Ask anyone who has built one they will tell you what excellent quality they are. They build light and are designed for todays modern standards. You would not be dissapointed in this kit. It is worth every penny. I have a 2.43 meter Pitts and have had the 3.03 Pitts and the 3.02 Eagle. They are light and strong. Good luck on your decision.

Hello

I have the Pitts in scale 1/2.1 from Exclusive Modellbau, and it is absolutely the best kit I have ever built. (I have been building and flying RC-Models since 1974) The parts fit is great the construction is very very light but very very strong so in my opinion they are worth the money.
On top of that their models are GREAT fliers so if you want the best there is nothing to worry about.

Good luck with your search and build.

More like 18lbs with a brison 3.2, I had one, it is the same just renamed Ohio Rc Kit, pics of mine in my gallery

Fly great under power, glides like the space shuttle

BTW, Pro-Line as did Ohio Rc offers a larger version also 77" span, Both are overpriced by about 30% I'd say. especially now a days,, they were not that expensive when Ohio Rc was selling them

I have the EMHW PittsS S1-S, just finished a build for someone else, and have the Challenger sitting in the corner awaiting it's turn. They are the absolute best kit's I have seen in my forty'ish years in the hobby, built like an ARF but very strong. http://vogelsang-aeroscale.com/emhwultimate185.html carries the EMHW line here in the states.
