Default Dynaflite PA-18 Super Cub Thrust Line

Found a partially built, but not too well, Dynaflite Super Cub. Stripped off old covering and I am now covering with flat finish Dove Gray Monokote. No instructions with the airplane. I know that the CG is located 4 1/8" aft of the leading edge of the wing. I'm going to install a DLE-30 and I have a Fiberglass Specialties Super Cub cowl ready to go.

Would really appreciate if anyone had the measurements/locations of the thrust line for the engine. I could approximate it, but would like to get it as close to spec as possible.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks. That was going to be my default location if all else failed.

Thanks for your help.

That would be great if you could provide me with some measurements. The actual firewall is about 5 1/2X4 1/4". If you had some measurements from top/bottom and side to side, that would be great.

Wouldn't happen to know of any extra windshields for the Cub, would you? Mine is a little beat up, was glued and torn in two spots.

Thanks for your help.

i am looking at the plans , it does have some down thrust but no right thrust, the plans show two firewalls one on the engine and then rubber mounted to the one on the plane
the crank centerline is 1 inch down from the top of the firewall

Sounds good. I'm going to mount a DLE-30 and I'll draw the thrust line 1 inch down from the top of the firewall, probably add 2 degrees of down thrust.

Thanks again for your help.

THE 1 INCH IS DOWN FROM THE TOP OF THE 1/4 PLYWOOD MOUNT and not from the top of the fuselage

Super. Unfortunatly, it would be impossible to mount the DL-30, on the 1/4" firewall, with the thrust line 1 inch down from the top. The thrust line will end up around 1 1/2 inches from the top. I'll have to do some experimenting to see how close I can get it. Might take a little more down-thrust, with the engine mounted a little below the actual thrust-line.

Thanks for your help.
