Default Regulator on NiMh?

Hi all,
I have recently dona a major-overhaul on my extra 260 and swapped out my dead Li-Io packs for some NoBS NiMh packs. The MPI switches I'm currently running are meant for Li-io and have built in regulators, I was wondering if this could mean that they are not to be used with NiMh as the regulator could harm performance somehow? Any ideas?

I suggest you contact MPI and ask them. I used to live in your area in the 80's. Which club do you fly with?

A 6 cell NiMh or NiCd pack would be about the same voltage range as a 2 cell LiPo. The regulator should be in the 5 to 6 volt range and not fluctuating when you exercise the plane's control surfaces.

Hi,
I used to fly with the East Bay Radio Controllers (EBRC), located by Altamont pass, But since they have gone all electric, I now fly at the Livermore Flying Electrons (www.LFERC.com).

Lifer- Yeah, there's a bunch of great guys out there that are always willing to help. I contacted MPI and they said it should be fine, I'm going to change it out to a standart swich soon though, so that I can save some weight. Thanks for your help!

CanDo- I also checked the voltage from the regulator using and not using the servo's, it stayed the same, Thanks for your help!
