Well, from what we had heard in the past about Sig saying that they were still in business and the Rascal 110's were on the boat has come to pass. It looked like the Rascal 110 would become just a faded memory. A buddy of mine just came back from the Toledo show and talked with the fellows at the Sig both. These guys said that they have bought out Sig and everything will remain as is and the Rascal 110's ARF will once again be available in August of this year. They also said that there will be different colors available. They said that one could be pre-ordered but they were unsure about the price at this time. This all sounds good but we'll just have to wait and see if it holds true. It sounds promising.

I didn't speak with them, but I did think it odd that a company that was no longer in business would spring for a fairly high profile booth at Toledo...

Your note would explain that... I wish them the very best of luck!

I too also spoke with an attendant in the Sig booth and he said the same thing about the company and the Rascal will be coming out late summer.

I'm just hoping that the new Rascal 110 price tag doesn't come in at a ridiculously high price.

I agree zippi, it was pretty high before. BUT, it is the only arf I didnt have to modify anything on. Built per instructions out of the box and is my favorite plane, 9 years old and on its third covering. Having said that, if the price got too high, I would just reverse engineer the design and build my own. Maybe bigger. I've always thought a Toledo Special fuse mated with a Rascal wing would be a good combo.

Edwin,

I lost my Rascal 110 due to the wires on the right gimbal breaking off. There was an issue with this on the Airtonics RDS-8000 TX. I have the H9 Toledo Special electified and I think it would make a great Giant Scale plane as is. Just add some wing struts and it would look pretty cool.

I emailed SIG to see what they had to say on this matter and this is what they wrote.

Dear Robert,

We will be able to provide you this information at the end of April when our
guys come back from China. Until then, there is no more information we
could give you. Please send me another email at the end of the month and I
probably will be able to give you the informaiton you have requested.

Thanks again for your interest in our products.

Sincerely,

Dave Falkenhagen

Hello,

A friend of mine was at the Toledo show and spoke with someone at your both.
He had inquired about the Rascal 110 ARF and was told it would be coming out
in August of this year. Can you tell me when you will have more information
about the Rascal 110 on your website and more info on the price and
pre-order. We use to put on a Rascal 110 fly-in annually at our club but
since the plane was no longer available it has come to pass. It would be
nice to start the fly-ins back up again. Thanks.

Theres an ad in the AMA mag. Says it will have flaps now. I dont think they would spend ad money unless it was gonna happen. Nothing on price though.

I received and email from Becky at Sig a couple days ago and the price is $549.99. She said the Rascal 110 will be available around December 15. Someone on another thread said that there is a full page add for the new Rascal 110 on page 102 of the December issue of the AMA magazine.

I saw the adI guess it is coming-seems pretty pricy at $550.

I wonder if a DLE 20 would power it??

I had a G-23 in my first Rascal and it pulled it along quite well, nothing blazing fast but at a nice pace so the DLE 20 should do a nice job.

I tried a RCGF 20 in mine. It had exactly the same power my Saito 120 has. Flew good and could everything it did before, EXCEPT, I couldnt thermal the plane anymore. That extra weight the gasser has put the wing loading over just enough that it would just do a sinking glide at idle. So I put the saito back in. Theres no doubt in my mind that a saito 100 would fly the 110.
Edwin

I'll pass at that price. I've never paid that much for a ARF.

phakur,

A DLE 20 will fly the Rascal 110 just fine. One fellow in our club was flying his on an OS 120 4 stroke. I ran mine with a G26. This time around I'm looking at either a DLE 30 or a ZDZ 40. The Rascal 110 looks really cool when it's hovering.

This one caught my eye, too. There is a page on Sig's site.

I wonder if a Turnegy 26 would work well? It might also be nice as electric.
I think the choices were red or blue with white trim.
