Looks cute. I'm going to build a 20cc trainer for my grandson something like this. It looks like the cabin area under the wing is a little lightly built?

Look kind of stubby for a trainer.  Won't it be hard to handle for a trainer?

ok its kinda intermediate im way past training days so i figured step it up a lil it is a short stubby but tall airplane the landing gear should keep the center of gravity low soo its some what stable. and now ive desided the wings are gunna be fiberglassed foam core wings.

Are the rods through the hood and up to the wing mount area piano wire or wood ? piano wire epoxied into the formers below, and the roof mount area would be a good idea...

I know someone already mentioned it will need strengthened, and you were planning on it..but if you glass a foam core wing you are going to REALLY need to make that upper cabin tough.. I like the looks of it.. but I am not sure how much building experience you have? I am only mentioning it because i would rather bug you a little and see it hold together...than stay quiet and find out the wing came off!

good to see people building !

One point I would like to make is - you could use 1/4" spruce for your longerons and other structural framework.  It is easier to glue panels to and would give more strenght; this is a large structure you are building.

the two pulls are just dowel the frame it self is going to be carbon fiber renforced. the cabin isnt a concern to me it is strong as it and after renforceing it will be uber strong everything is still in strenthen mode.um anyone have a site to a good landing gear build i wana make a bunggy gear. and i need help with makeing a foam cutter like how to do it foam is new to me.

You may want to think about the glass covered wing, it doesn't fit the plane, IMHO. You can use foam cores then put cap-strips to simulate ribs, but a vacuum bagged wing would look terrible.

thats a fine glider but the plane was designed with this wing in mind and im pretty sure ima go with it. id much rather have a sheeted fiberglassed foam wing rather then an old school ribbed wing. i dont have intentions on covering the wing id much rather sand and paint.

just a lil update didnt realy feel like building like mad this week i have the bell crank built for the elivator system. i also managed to get the formers for the tail structure in place and some of the formers and decoration in on the bottom of the plane i also got a shot coat of black on the frame it just made it a little easyer on me to differentiate the frame from everything else.

hey its been such a long time since Ive done much but lately i got into it. lately me and my wife have been doing a lot of the building together. we've made a set of landing gear useing 5 and one half inch wheels. the tail is complete and is covered using sig silkspan. ive made the outside of the plane more apeeling when covered by adding stringers and formers. anyhow here are some pictures to follow along.
