Kinda hard to get that feeling when I am posting the builds which in a way puts everyone in front of me or at least at the same eye level. Besides, I have done some teaching and found it to be very rewarding.

Turtle deck almost done. It is really cool how water on the outside of the sheeting will make it bow, on this arch it bows almost perfectly.

That's very impressive Ace... the fuselage came together quite fast... I like the interlocking parts, but if that is laser cut, the edges are very clean with no burn marks, or its very accurate die cut.
Nice kit none the less.

It is very accurate router cut. The only thing is the inside corners are rounded but it only takes a second to clean out. All the glass is first rate to say the least and it comes with a full set of quality hardware.

I think I like the CNC router cutting over the laser... with the laser, I feel the glue bond maybe compromised with the scorched edges... I know sanding it off helps, but with a very small spindle straight router bit CNC controlled, its the better way to go.
That integral fuselage jigg is very handy; pre build stainless cabane strut... those EMHW kits are top notch with out a doubt and so they should for the price.

I must say what an awesome kit you selected and you are a very good builder. Thanks for posting this progression of your model. I will be sure to stay tuned!

Thanks AA. Your fairly new here or at least your number of post says that. This build is for another RCU member but you can check out my previous Pitts build "The Red Eagle" here, http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-s...-emhw-182.html, I am in the process of making the canopy to finish it up.
By the way, on that thread the pics got deleted on the first 40 or so pages, sorry.

Kevin, your a nut. Just think what we could do if we had that kind of help.
The epoxy finally set on the cabane mounts so I bolted the cabane on. To ensure the cabane legs have plenty of strength I slide a dowel into a brass tube and slide that into the cabane legs about 2". I use a point punch to set the legs into the brass then drill it.

Yes, acerc.. i am new to the forum and the world of rc. I discovered the rc hobby last august and ever since have a hard time thinking about anything else other than the hobby. I am a new pilot also, only having about 12 hours of flight time on my trainer, but I believe that i am progressing at an accelerated pace.
I have two projects in the works, the first is a 50 inch Spadstick and the second is a 65 inch ARF from Value Hobby, a Cessna 182. The next project will be a Stearman.... http://www.alienaircraft.com/k306.htm This will be nitro powered.
Just wanted to give some background history about myself because I will be watching this forum regularly as I plan on doing a scratch build and Ill need to ask questions for sure.

Sheesh, I don't stop in for a day and your almost done. Slow down buddy! Nah, just kidding. Man, squirrly will be flying her in no time. I'm sure it helps that it's your second time around and you already know what not to do, and what to do. Great work!

Absolutely Bill. This laser has an adjustable head that rotates, pans, and tilts. The stand is simple as you can see and can be clamped where ever and how ever needed. It also has a top and side mount. And in the background on the table is the fin and rudder being made. The fin needs to be mounted to the fuse before I can go any further with it. Not going to be a lot of progress over the next couple of hours as I am watching Mason and then Quincy, so it's only during commercials I work on it.
