Default Electrical issue or servo issue ?????

Hey all,

Been a bit since I've gotten on here to ask, but I'm having an issue with either aileron servos or a "y" connector, when powered up the servos SEEM to work fine, but then something wierd happens after a minute or so of working the ailerons, one side just stops and then returns to zero REALLY slowly while the other side continues to work just fine. I decided to try and isolate the problem by reversing the "y" connector, after doing so the opposite side from the first test seemed to slow as well after a minute or so of operation and also has a bounce when it returns to zero.

I'm at a loss here......any ideas??

Thanks in advance

Biker

If the servos work fine, one at a time, replace the Y connector. Dan.

Thanks Dan, one would THINK that a bad connector would be the culprit, but after I gave it some thought, wouldnt the servo not work at all if it were the y connector??....I certainly HOPE that's all it is, I'm changing that out in the morning so I guess we'll find out.

Thanks for your help :-)

Y-connectors are relatively cheap. Follow Dan's advice.

I had a lot of problems with aileron servos connected with a Y harness. Floppy operation and they would continue to move after I stopped stick movement. To fix it, I dumped the Y harness and plugged each servo into it's own channel on the radio and slaved them together (you have to have a computer radio to do this). The other thing I did was to quit using servo extensions. I de-soldered the servo lead right at the circuit board then soldered on a new lead that was the correct length to go all the way to the receiver. At the receiver end I crimped on the little contact pins and slid them into a sleeve.

End of any servo issues.
