Wink bud nosen corasair build

hi guys new to site as I don't get to techy with online stuff.. been a builder and flyer for many years and decided to tackle the bud nosen corsair build 1/4 from plans ive had for a long time . build is coming nicely along for fuselage , and moved on to the wings .. ribs are cut and ready to layup but by the plans not much detail if any on the layup on the gull wing part... and no photo illustartions to go by and nothing online I can find. I know someone on here has built one and could lend some build advise on the wing for the gull setup.... thanks in advance

I'm the VP of RCCJ!

Sounds good, let me know, I'll bring my 60cc radial Corsair out.

I built one of those monsters for a friend. He bought it at a swap meet. It was about 1/2 built and 1/2 destroyed. Somebody's stupid cat was even using the fuse as a scratching post. In order for me to finish the thing up, I used a set of Ziroli Corsair plans as a reference. I needed them mostly for the flap arrangement. That was many years ago. As best I remember, the plans for the Nosen Corsair are skimpy at best. You get the outline of a Corsair and have to fill in everything else yourself.

Get a set of the Ziroli plans as a build reference. You should be able to figure everything out. You will have to do some Engineering along the way. The guy wanted me to build his as a one piece wing so that was fun to move around the shop. I put all the pneumatic junk in the wing including the air bottle (Robarts) and made a hatch for access to a control panel for the air valve and servo. We realized the retracts would need the heavy duty springs when it was done.Power was a brand new Quadra 100 sporting a 24 x 12 prop.

Good luck. Post up some pics when you can.

wished I could post pics on here nut not yet .. ok got it figured with a lil help on here , the ribs have to be cut more than what the templates call for .. you almost have to custom cut the ribs for each of the dihedral braces,,, its somewhat a simple process but I wished they would mention this on the plans . takes a ;lil more time to do this . with that being said , im going a lil further on it as this is a weak area on the wing , the way its built by the plans , and this area is also the spot where the gear will go... so on the topside of the wing I will be boxing it in between the ribs and some under strtucture to reinforce the weak areas and accommodate the retracts.... as soon as im able to post pictures of this I will as I don't want anyone else to have to jump hurdles and get frustrated with the nosen corsair build if they so choose to … happy new year to all and happy flying ….
