Default Loving's Love at Joe Nall

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this so please forgive me... Does anyone know if Loving's Love was a featured plane on any of the Joe Nall videos? I contacted Propwash and SKS and both think that it was but neither one knew which one.

Thanks for your help.

Hey Shawn, I know the guy that owns the Love. I'll ask him tommorow and will get back with you on it, if no one else can answer your question.

I've seen it fly many times. Very impressive.

Shawn, I talked with Larry(the Pilot) and he said it probubly(sp?) wasn't on there because the guy filming said he had seen "100s" of them fly before. (Yea right) Maybe he couldn't keep up with it, or didn't catch his fancy, who knows?

Anyhow, I know a little about the plane if you need some info on it

Kelly,

Thanks for checking into it for me. I can't imagine why it wouldn't make it on the video...there's NOTHING like it around. Do you know if there are any plans available for the plane? It looks great with that gull wing and I would love to build one.

I appreciate the help!

He flew it many times at 2005 Joe Nall in May, can't imagine such a beautiful and distinctive plane would not make it on the video. To me, it was one of the more impressive planes at the event.

That's horrible news!! I really feel bad for the pilot...that was a very unique plane that I'm sure drew lots of attention where ever it went. It will be missed.

In the early '70s Mike Ogelvie of Bellvue Wa. sold a kit intended for formula one pylon racing of the Love. I had four of them. I would love to get the plans of a modern version of it. I don't think Mike is still around.

[8D]The love that you are talking about was built from a set of full scale plans that owner had. Dont know of any other planes out there.

The Lovings Love you have seen at Joe Nall for the past five years was built by Mark Glazer of Cary, NC from his own plans that he scaled from the full-scale ones. Apparently, Mark had been involved in at least some of the building of a real one at some point in his younger life. The one he built for RC weighed about 43 pounds and used a 3W-120 powerplant. Although Mark is an airline pilot and an awesome builder, he does not fly RC (yet!) so the pilot duties are handled by Larry Lewis of Raleigh, NC.

As mentioned the airplane suffered some significant damage this past weekend at an IMAA fly-in when, on a low pass, the right wing panel caught some taller grass on the opposite side of the runway and it was dragged into the ground the ground at about 150 mph (they had a radar gun on it at the time of the pass)! The fuselage isn't damaged too bad but the wings were ripped off. Dont' cry too much for them because at dinner on the way home from the event, Mark and Larry were already telling me about the next version which will be lighter and FASTER! Watch for it..........

Here's a few pics of it from this year's Joe Nall.

Shawn,

The original aircraft is in EAA's museum at Oshkosh. Super neat plane, 1/4 or 1/3 scale wouldn't bee too big.
Somewhere I have a 3 view, if I can find it.

Hi all,I'm new here and I landed on this pages after weeks of search for some plans just about the wr1, Hotrod of the sky is the perfect description for this aircraft! Anyone that could be helpful on this matter? I would like it as Mark Glazer's one, wood and big! Thanks in advanceRenato
