Been busy with other projects, and building and servicing lots of Wren Turbines. Plans are to have it ready for the 2012.

RE: 27% Cessna 421 Twin Turbo Prop
Hate to ask this... but i just read all 18 pages of this thread. But to my horrible surprise. All the pictures of the aircraft being painted after white base coat are "no longer available". Could we get some updated pictures? i would love to see what it looks like in detail.
And BTW, THISISAMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Myplan is to build a 1/3 scale C-123K provider. I already get to play with a real one on an almost daily basis... but i want my own lol.
At 1/3 scale, it would be 25ft 5in long, 36ft 8in wingspawn and 11 ft 4in high. Powering it would be two 9 or 18 cylinder radial engines (scaled to size, no 18 cylinder engine made yet, but there is a 9 cylinder) and possibly 2 jet engines in the jet pods which made the C-123B into the K model. I havent decided if i would need them or not, but for scale reason i might do them in the money is there. It might be big enough for me to make a working cockpit for me to fly in it lol.
If you don't mind me asking, how much $ is invested into this excluding power plants? I'm just trying to figure out what type of money i would be looking at for my eventual project. I think i need to build my first plane first though before i even trythe 123lol.

Here you go. As for costs...it's hard to put a monetary value on a 5 year project...but there are several thousand dollars invested in materials and equipment, radio and landing gear!

I tell ya Ron that is soooo beautiful!!! Meticulous!!!! Are you going to try and attend Joe Nall 2012? Also projected first flight?
Could you please post a video of both engines running. You posted a video previously but I'd love to see one with the wings on and both engines running.

Ron,
The Cessna Looks Stunning! I have finally machined the first scale main drag link for the Cessna. Took about 2 hours to machine from Billet but looks very close to scale. Next will be the upper mains with oleo. Working on hydraulic scale brakes for this plane as well. Thoughts?
Thanks,

Ron,
For some reason some of your pictures are not showing up during final assembly.
What I am most interested in is how you installed the side windows. Are they flush with the fuse outside or is there a recess between the fuse and window material?
I'm in the process of finishing a 24% that was started by someone else and trying to think the details through before I proceed.
BTW if anyone is interested, I took the 24%er that is shown on Wendel's page for the plans for this model and installed RimFire 50CC motors each running on 12S 8000 batteries and a 17/10? three bladed Troy built prop and it flys absolutely fantastic. Lots of power and we reduce to 1/2 throttle during flight and get 10 min or so flight time. The batteries go in the nacelle where the fuel tanks were.
Thanks,
Terry

Aircraft now ready for the maiden. (Sometimes life gets in the way!!)
I have upgraded to a larger brake system and have balanced the spinner-propeller assemblies.
No excuses left ......

RE: 27% Cessna 421 Twin Turbo Prop
Just came across this post and I must say its a fantastic aircraft. I love the upgrade to the turboprop engines, and the paint job is superb. Not many persons are flying civilian rc's out there and I oh so love to see them. Loved the start up videos, so the only question left in the minds of your followers is this is now summer so where are the flight videos?

I must admit I am very sorry to hear you want to get out of this beautiful hobby because people like you bring a different taste to our hobby. The least i can say is I really enjoyed your built and sharing your experience with us and hope you change your mind and stay with us.
