1/4 PUP control rod help
Hi all . I am setting up a 1/4 scale BSA PUP (first gasser ). I am working on installing the control horn for the elevator. The mounting position for the horne is 1 1/2 inches to the right of the tailpost , if I mount the horn at 90 deg. to the elevator it would make for a long distance from the horn to the fuseside with no support for the control rod . How would you guys set it up ? would it be ok to angle the horn towards the fuse side so the rod would exit the fuse closer to the horn?
One more question. The instructions call for mounting some of the control hornes with sheet metal screws. Does this method work ok or should I use the horn and backingplate ?

RE: 1/4 PUP control rod help
Attached is my set up. Horn is 1-3/16" from fuse side. There is about 4-1/4" rod between fuse and horn. I used 4-40 Greatplanes metal pushrods. I do not remember what BUSA called for.
