Electron 50mm brakes have been ordered!
Need to pull the legs out of the fuz & box up all those bits to give to my mate Russell so he can do his magic.

Brakes have arrived from Electron retracts in Spain, very fast shipping via DHL.

ok this will be a dumb question but will put it out there.I'm putting together a giant scale Cessna 182T 35% and want to replicate the seat belts and buckles. From what I can see in photos it uses a lap and shoulder arrangement very similar to cars including the buckle.
Any idea how to replicate the buckle? Ideally I would like to be able to undo it so I can put in and remove the pilots.
thanks
cheers
P

thanks to another modelers idea I have something that may work.
I made up a test one using a female 9.5mm electrical connector and heat shrink, the seat belt can attach via the male spade end. I think this may work. Not perfect but still not bad.

Yellow insulation is cut away

Heat shrink creates the illusion of the real buckle.

More small scale goodies are on the way. Machining for the brakes is underway.

That is a BRILLIANT idea!
I have to say I’m really happy to see that this thread that I started over 10 years ago is still going. It really is a wonderful wonderful aircraft. I’m excited to see your first flight. And I really appreciate the wonderful pictures. If you could possibly post some video on YouTube and provide us a link, I would really appreciate that.

mate will be quite a while before first flights, I have another project on the bench as well.
I'm still gathering bits and will do a few things to the cessna in between.
Once I get the brakes and wheels etc back I'll get it back on its wheels and can do a few things.

Not much to report except I am waiting on the brakes machining to be done. Once it is back on its wheels I'll progress.
I have it sitting on nose wheel and a carboard box at the rear. I bumped it the other day and it nearly toppled over, luckily the front seats were there and stopped it however they got some cracks around where the rear and seat meet and will need to be reinforced.
The seats are quite flimsy to say the least. Thinking to use CF mat underneath and up the back then blend and paint.
Ordered the new AR ILS-03 lights controller too, will sell the ILS-01 that came with the model.

Darn TShark.
Your wheels make your plane look so scale. Can I ask where you purchased them from?

I'm still waiting on the machining to be done for the brakes. Not wanting to do anything till I get it back on it's wheels and it is stable. I do have a pile of little scale goodies on the way and trying to sort some pilots.
Going to get some illuminated Garmin screens for it, G1000. The bezes are #d printed and I found a place in Netherlands who can supply programmed mini screens in correct size that will have a representation of G1000 screen, flight instruments on one and Nav on the other. Bit of cool factor to salve my inner geek.
Those will be the next thing on the shopping list.

Still waiting gents and getting on with other stuff. Once the bits for the brakes are done this model will get completed very quickly.
Pilots from Axels pilots in Germany are ordered.

what do you guys think.? do you all think I should just order the 35% or should I wait, my question was to tmmy I don't want to what 6 month or a year, for this plane I no it takes time build but that's to long. for me to pay $5,200.00 for the plane and shipping. as he has all my money.

Tmmy is a standup guy and will deliver once you pay for one of his birds. I know you don't have to pay up all upfront. Usually he takes a down payment then after the product is built and ready to ship you pay the rest. It's been a challenge getting a hold of him lately so if you do speak to him, kindly let me know his new number as I have a few projects I will like to have him build for me.

I understand your concern. The wait is very long but I can tell you this: You will NEVER find a finer Cessna model than the one made by TMMY Composites. It’s the major reason I started this forum back on 2008. I felt it was very important to tell all modelers about this amazing plane. I’ve seen many examples of the TMMY Cessna in person over the years and they are by far the largest and best made RC Cessna’s for well over a decade.
The time it takes for TMMY to build the Cessna has always been 6 months or more but it is worth it. It will be the finest RC plane in your collection. And Tommy will custom make to your specs. So pull the trigger my friend!! You won’t be disappointed. ✈️✈️✈️

You will wait anyway as he needs to find out what scheme you want, take your deposit and book it in to production slot, depending on who is before you with orders determines how long you wait.
Too impatient to wait for a great model then find a foamie to fly.
