sheeting hanging on both sides ..-the wrap aroundpanels - aft of the fire wall is doubled sheeted ..1/16 4inch sheets staggered to complete dash top .a rubber edge on the windsheild really finishes that ,makes a nice line..there is a compass on the instrument panel...and the plan-or-model for this project is over 25 years old...

This thing is looking better and better, It makes me want to drive up and see it. Do you plan on taking it to Owatonna for any of their giant scale events?
I would be darned serious about making the trip for that! Maybe you are more like me though. I like low key flying around the club, and I go to watch others at big events. I feel nervous SPOTTING at an event, flying...forget about it !

Looking great! I love your "no passengers" warning on the instrument panel. I would hate for someone to get confused and get into it! What are you going to use to finish it?

All the windows are in -but i cannot see them so new and clean..i will use foam board on the interior to give it some color and give it that finished look.maybe that will reflex in the plexiglas and show the windows better..i don't think the airplane is show quality .it's more like a giant scale trainer & i don't detail well enough to be happy showing this one..i like looking at all the other planes that are show quality -i love to see all that talent & love of this sport-hobby that all you guys & gals put into their projects and if, i retire someday i will built a show plane ...I had worked in trucking ,and that is where i found the no passengers ,decal ..it was the only thing i had at the time so i stuck it on .it will come off & and some instruments will replace it...some day,,this is the first time outside, this is ace hardware downtown, duluth mn.the shop is just to the right .stop by if you want & ask for rich.....do you like to do wood putty and sand??? next i will as the girlfriend says [sm=71_71.gif]PUT A WING ON IT....ha ha ....

hey there is nothing to apologize about in your project so far. For every guy that spends a million dollars paying someone else to build them a hotrod, there are a million guys building them from scratch on a budget. I would rather look at a owner / builders fun project anytime to some hanger queen that is kept in the sealed box Micheal Jackson sleeps in !
you should be nothing but proud of it, and I still would love to see it go in person !

I don't like doing the insides either. I'm not good at that kind of thing. I've tried but I can't achieve anything as near as I would like to do. Now that I am retired, I quit trying to do the insides except for a pilot.

I have been really busy with extra jobs -not working on the big airplane -but I wanted to share this piece of history with you...I have been lucky ,Back in 1958 -a time before -I was born -there was a tri-pacer model kit...manufactured by BABCOCK ...and in all the web sites I have traveled -never have seen nor heard of this.....Now in the year of 2009 ........Someone on long island NY listed one- NEW in the box complete ..& now over a half century later I get to put this together -

I've seen those from time to time on E-Bay. Usually someone starts to build it and looses interest.
Be nice to see one assembled one with Modern light weight R/C equipment. and electric Li-poly setup.
$9.95 was a lot of money back in 1958.
foodstick : I agree.
