Default Giant P-51 TF vs H9

I am looking for pros/cons of these two planes:

Top Flite Gold 1/5 scale P-51 ARF
Hangar 9 1.50 P-51 ARF.

I cannot find much info on the Top Flite ARF. I would probably use a DA-50 or larger

Hangar 9 I already have a Zenoah G26 with electronic ign. Would this be too small of a motor? I also have a Brison 2.4 I could use.

I would be flying off a grass field and would need pretty stout retracts.

Thanks.

I have the H9 P51D and it's been a great plane. The only negative is the gear that comes with the kit. Otherwise it's a fantastic flying plane and looks pretty good too. The DA-50 is perfect for the TF P51. You do want to add some dihedral to the wings if you get a TF version.

Ok, can you elaborate just a bit on the retracts? Is it just a matter of changing the struts to a larger wire or are they just too flimsy all together?

Are you using a G26 on yours? How is the performance?

Is the TF pretty fast with the DA 50? Good vertical performance?

The TF doesnt have dihedral? Or just not much dihedral?

Thanks!

Dirtypool,

I have the H9 P-51 1.50 and talked to Customer Support about the retracts 2 days ago. I love their Customer Support and they are taking care of me. The welds are VERY weak on the struts. But that's not your biggest problem.... the H9 is discontinued. You may be able to find one at your LHS.

Go with the T/F With DA50 or G-62 You will be happy. Mine is 5 years old now and is still my everyday flyer.

Ok, thanks.

My DA-50 is still at work in an Edge. I think I might start looking for a TF Mustang to get into the building queue.
