That's too bad no one from Europe came. Last year they had a bunch of folks from Europe scheduled to come but they backed out due to the high fuel prices making the shipping prohibitive. I had planned to go last year but when the guys from Europe and the UK backed out I cancelled mjy plans.

I think in order for this to become a major event you have to get the guys with the REALLY big stuff to come. And that means the Germans and the Brits. Those guys really build some Monsters!

Just my $0.02 worth

I'm not complaining about the pictures, they are great. But to really appreaciate the size of these things I/we need a refence. Clouds and background objects do not provide that reference. I really can't tell if I'm looking at a giant, or a 40 sized scale plane or a full scale.

Do you have any pictures with the owner/pilot standing next to their planes? for size refence? Or even an object in the foreground, near the model, toolbox, lawn chair, chainlink fence... ect.

Edit: Looked a little closer, and there are 2 pictures on the first batch (post) that have that refence. The lady holding the PT-19 and the plane with the TX in front.

I'll have pictures and videos in the full coverage that have other things in them to see the scale of the aircraft on.

I talked to Jim Record who owns that GeeBee at the event. As Monster Planes started he said the plane was for sale. But by the banquet Saturday night he remembered how well it flew and how fun it was and said it wasn't for sale anymore, he was keeping it!!!!!

Dave,
I'm hoping to have the last part of the coverage finished up this week. As I said earlier today, I've still got some pictures to process and video to finish editing

Jabba- what lens you using on your Nikon D200? I see some of them are shot at 300mm. Any chance you have the Nikon 70-300VR? I have one on my D90. Love shooting R/C and Full-Scale shows. Job well done!
