RE: Pilot RC 28% Decathlon 107

If it is anyhting like the bigger version that pilot makes, I suspect it will be pretty fun. A member of the club has the 40% and it just floats around the sky with ease. I have the RC guys 98" decathlon w/ a DLE30 in it and it is a very fun plane to fly. It weighs in right at 15 lbs with only one servo per surface. The 30 pulls it around with ease on a 19x8. I have had members even suggest to enter it in a IMAC basic. It will do the whole routine with out much trouble( if the wind is calm)[:@]

stangevil29,
Hey thats good to hear, thanks. Was gonna go with the RCGuys Decathlon but my DLE55 is a bit to much for it and should be a better match in the Pilot RC Decathlon107" wingspan. What was your overall impression of covering ,build quality and construction ofthe Pilot40%you mentioned? I have very limited info on these aircraft and sure appreciateany input, thanks. Eager to purchase, just waiting for help to make up my mind, lol.........Mike

I have only looked it over once when the member first got it but, the build quality look very good. I believe he has a DA120 in it. With the flaps down on a flyby, it is amazing how slow it gets. And of course with the coals poured to it, it will do just about anything an extra or yak can (just a lot slower);)

I have one Pilot ARF, and it is under assembly now...quality is really HIGH, as good if not better than my only AW ARF, so don't let that hold you back. I like the plane a lot but price makes me balk. I really think you should buy it though, as I like to help others spend their money, haha. Looks like a nice flying plane on the vids and I would love to have one eventually. Where will you get it from...I see Chief is out of stock right now. Jon

RE: Pilot RC 28% Decathlon 107

Chief sold out quickly of the Pilot RCDecathlon's and thats a good sign, gaining tremendous popularity very quickly it seems. Talked with the guys that are flying the 40% and 47% Decathlons and they really like them overall and had nothing but good things to say about Pilot RC. What attracts me to these planes is you can order your own color/scheme at no extra cost, just send Tony your request and he will let you know if they can, great customer service from what I'veread so far in other threads. You did just make me reach for my wallet and telephone, lol, so thanks for your input Jon!

RE: Pilot RC 28% Decathlon 107

I myself do not have one, but, a good friend of mine does. The plane flies great and is very aerobatic and stable. As every Pilot plane I have owned, the workmanship and quality was exceptional. Be aware, Pilot does not have any type of construction manual or dvd for this plane. There are build threads online which give insight into the construction, but it's fairly straight forward if you've constructed several larger scale planes. My buddy has a DA 85 on his, and I assure you, a DLE 55 would be perfect for this plane.
