whats the deal?

whats the reason I see the fuel line looped on top of the fuel tank on a gasser?
Is it that way for a reason or just so you can tell if there is fuel going somewhere?

That is the vent line and the reason it is so long it does not leak when you are doing 3d moves in the air.
