Quarter scale Mustang from Don Smiths plans
Hi,
I am starting to build 1/4 scale Mustang P-51D from Don Smiths plans and looking for servosto it. Elevator, ailerons and flaps all would be with two servos. How much torque for servos is really needed for about 25kg bird? I have used Hitec HS-645MG:s earlier in smaller 1/5 TopFlite Mustang andthey seems to be reliable and strong servos for even bigger planes. HS-645 has 9,6kg/cm at 6V. What do you think using this servo for ailerons and splitted elevator? Flaps and rudder need more torque. I have looked Hitec HS-755MG:s but did not find any reviews of them. Other servo I have looked is Futaba S3306, plenty of torque with reasonable price. Have you any opinion of these servos or better suggestions from Futaba or Hitec? I like to stay analog servos. Of course I don't want to take any risk by choosing too weak or cheap servos. |

Don't know if you would be interested but I have a set of Don Smith plans for the 1/5 scale FW190 along with the cowl, hood and Century Jet retracts. Will let everything go for $325.00
