I got this 1941 Taylorcraft last summer from a guy that used to fly with my late father. It was just the plane. I bought a 52 cc motor from Hobbyking which is sized like a 40 cc. The wingspan is nine feet. I believe this plane was built from plans, not from a kit. It was built in 1989. It has been flown with a 40 cc but he said that it wasn't enough for it. I plan to fly it this summer. It is a lot of work to put this thing together for flight. This is my first giant scale plane. I kinda wish it was a clipped wing but I got a great deal on it so it is what it is. I expect it will be a slow flier.

It could be an old Ace RC Taylorcraft. The fly great on a Zenoah G-38 so your Turnigy 50 (HobbyKing) will be more than enough power. Swing a 20X8 or a 20X10 Xoar Sabre prop and you will have a ball flying it.

Hi Stuka
I have carefully studied the Ace planes on the Net and I can tell you that this is not an Ace.
It may be from Bud Nosen plans or a guy named ? Anderson plans.

Lanier had a quarter scale Taylorcraft. I believe that it could be built in either the full, or clipped wing versions.

I don't know if this would be a possibility, or not.

I just checked my Lanier Taylorcraft kit in the attic. Wingspan is listed as 108" (9').

After looking closely at your pictures I am pretty sure that this is the same plane that I have except for the cowl. The one on mine looks to be homemade.
I will look into Rousch Engineering!
