Wing Wire Connection Question
Giant Scale Builders,
Has anyone ever used a mil-spec circular wire connector ("cannon-plug") to consolidate the servo and other electrical wires into a single connection? I have 5 servo connections, along with 4 other wire connections. This brings my total individual wire count up to 19. Is there any potential downside to having my outboard wing panels setup like this? I cant think of any, but maybe I'm blinded by the simplicity. All comments are welcomed. Tell me what you think... I was just looks at a website of large scale builds this weekend. They were using a DB25 connector, if intrested I will try and find the site as there were photos. DB25 is the original RS232 connector before they went to the 9 pin that is used now!

Well a 9 pin connector is a good start, but I have 10 additional wires to compensate for. Ideally, I need something capable of handling atleast 20 wires. Mike |

I am sorry you miss understood, the DB25 is 25 pins, the new RS232 uses a db9 connector, or 9 pins. The DB25 can be bought a most computer stors that sell components

Thats a good idea, but I would like something that locks in place. I want the connectors lock to each other, rather than the wing panel holding the connector.
Thats why I'm looking into the Mil-spec connectors. Mike |

Cannon plugs will work fine.
Most modelers don't consider them because they are either beyond their ability to use them properly or they just are not familiar with them. If you are comfortable with your ability to make the connections and properly strain relieve the wiring they will so the job in spades. why dont you just use automoive weather packs i think they got them up to that many and will be easer to diconnect scince you dont have to worrie about the screws going thu them
