First Gasser
Hey all, I am looking into getting a 50CC Yak. This will be my first gasser. I am looking at three brands as of now and would like some input on the quality and manufacture.
1. Aeroworks Yak. I really like the way these look but a couple people have told me that you have to reinforce the gear plate. 2. TT TOC Yaks. Several nice color combination to choose from. 3. Extreme flight R/C Love the yellow and black Yak but is out of stock. Probably would not get by Christmas. Some that I have looked at but not really impressed. TroybuiltModels. I have looked at the magic hand yaks but have not found much on them. Any help to get me in the right directions would be greatly appreciated. |
RE: First Gasser
Have you looked at the [link=http://www.wildharerc.com/]Wild Hare[/link] planes ?

RE: First Gasser
I really want a Yak.

RE: First Gasser
Although that Sukhoi looks really nice. How would it compare to a Yak?

Is there somewhere else that I need to put this so I can get more help?

B 10,
Is there somewhere else that I need to put this so I can get more help? My experience with gassers is limited. My first, and only..but not last, is a Wild Hare Edge. The 50cc gassers fly so much better than smaller (.60-.90 glow) airplanes that there is little comparison. If you pick a plane you like from among the well-respected Asian-ARFs, and from and established vendor, you will probably not be disappointed. Good luck and have fun. P.S. RE: First Gasser
Big10,
The WH ARF's are nice and so are the Aeroworks QB series. I've had both in the 120 size and the Aeroworks was a better build as far as build time, Quality, and looks. The Aeroworks has the control surfaces already hinged except the rudder and everything is pre-drilled. You pay a little more for the Aeroworks but you get a little more. |
RE: First Gasser
I can comment on the aeroworks and the TOC, SD. Both are very good quality, and fly nice if kept light and balanced. There is a little more to put together with the SD, but you would be happy with either. I was not to impressed with my buddies majic hand yak, although a good price, you get what you pay for. One other thing, I think the gear mounting system on the SD is much better, unless Aeroworks has cought up to them in that respect.

RE: First Gasser
How bout the Hangar 9 Carden Yak 54, 89"
Early kits were a bit troublesome but I have just got one from the new batch and they seem to have fixed the problems and indeed made improvements. You would be pushed to find a better flying Yak, it outdoes the Extreme Flight Yak by all accounts. |
RE: First Gasser
Have a look at the range from Austars. they have some very nice and reasonably priced items.
