AeroWorks New Cessna 195
Aeroworks is showing a Cessna 195 at Toledo. I can't wait to find our more information out on it.
All of their models are Pricey. we will have to keep our fingers crossed. |

I saw this pic and just something about the round cowl and the yellow. The wheel pants look a little square to me. I don't think I've seen a Cessna like this before. Is this the proper shape of the 195?

RE: AeroWorks New Cessna 195
Here is a couple of links to a 195. The pants were quite boxy looking.

RE: AeroWorks New Cessna 195
The 195 wheel pants are boxy but Aeroworks seem to be about 25% too deep. Also the original wheel pants have a rolled seam all the way around them.

Thanks for the pics Super08. What about the size? I hear there may be two are three different sizes of the 195 coming out. Hopefully one will be in the 90" - 100" size.

If you ever see one taxi with the cross wind gear you will remember the sight. |

OT, but I could tell some funny stories learning to land in x-winds back when I was a student pilot. Darn near you know what in my pants. [X(]

Yes, it's a Quick Build.
I'm currently building a Hostetler 195. For an ARF, I thought this one looked pretty good. There is some deviance from scale, but I expect that. Aero Works seemed interested in any suggestions made, for improvements, as the design is not finalized. |

http://www.flitemetal.com/ It is fairly easy to use . Once you learn how. It's all in the prep work. Once you get good at it, You can make the Model look better than the real thing.
and It can be painted on for your colors. |

Anyone hear anything on a release date or a price yet??? Haven't seen anything on Aeroworks site.

RE: AeroWorks New Cessna 195
It is a self adhisive aluminum type covering that you put on over your balsa. It is dead soft and applied in the correct manner will look just like polished aluminum.

RE: AeroWorks New Cessna 195
I've been waiting for this plane to hit Aeroworks website. The plane looks really nice and scale like and being a prior owner of an Aeroworks plane I know the quality is there. Unfortunately, with a price tag of $895.95 I'm going to have to pass on this one. Just more than I'm wanting to spend on a plane that size.

The landing gear was mentioned in several above postings and as now the owner of one of these birds, I must report that the supplied landing gear is too soft and bends easily with even good landings! The main weak bend point is at the final bend behind the wheel pants where the factory bend angle tends to open up causing the wheels and pants to take on a toe out look which is damn disappointing for an $895.00 model ARF! Anyone else have this defect? Trying to figure out how to fix by reinforcing with B&B music wire standoffs repair or have a landing gear house build a replacement gear with hard enough aluminum to resist bending?

Can someone enlighten me on what "cross-wind landing gear" might be?
Thanks! |
