Anyone seen any info on this plane coming out. It is listed on [link=http://www.hobbypeople.net/prdcls/acarf401.asp]Hobby People[/link] web site. Very nice looking. Just wondering about the quality.

I love how vendors and online retailers list airplanes without ANY information! LOL
At this point I dont think anyone can answer your question. Good luck!
Looks similar to the CMP 140 sized Cessna 182

Some times when you go to the site the info for the Cessna is there and some times it's not. This plane is nothing like the CMP 140 Cessna 182. The CMP is a very small plane at 82.7" wing span compared to the 120" on the ASM Cessna. This is a 30-50cc gasser where as the CMP would only support maybe a 26cc max. I was just wondering if anyone had seen this plane at one of the trade shows and could give a little info as to the looks and quality.

If you go to http://www.modelengines.com.au/view/...CESSNA182.html you can get a bit more info and download the manual. It is constructed the same way as the smaller Advanced Scale Models Pitts Special that was available in red/white or yellow/black. It is a plastic type fuselage strengthened with carbon fibre rods. I have not seen it personally yet but did a lot of enquiries with a hobby shop owner who had seen it at the recent toy fair and he said it looked quite good. It retails for approximately $800 AUS dollars here so is very good value for a plane this size, but it would not be in the same league as another 120inch C182 selling here in Australia which is all composite, mind you that sells for $2500. My friend had two of the ASM Pitts and they were really good aircraft so i think you can expect the same from this model. Cheers,
Dave

I have both the ASM pitts and the ASM DH88 and they are both great aircraft. mine are great flyers and went together pretty good. I can't see why the Cessna would be any different.

I can't even find an online dealer to place an order or even find out how much it costs. Clueless about this plane. Anyone have a link?

RE: *ASM Cessna 182 (10ft) 30-50cc*

I am now the proud owner of this plane as of today. At first blush, everything seems top notch. The biggest surprise ( and plus) to me is t hat the fuselage is detachable just aft of the passenger compartment. I am planning on using a Brison 3.2 electic ignition and recommended servos. I am VERY excited.
I have noticed the top cabin hatch has sprung hatch levers, and there is an opening luggage door in the scale place.
How do you repair a fuselage like this? You could glass from the inside, use carbon fiber matte, reinforce with thin plywood, pretty much use any material. Not rocket science.

A friend is assembling one. He likes some of the features, but feels that quality is lacking in many areas.

Well mine is in the workshop now. Huge box, and very pretty contents. I look forward to putting this one together. The flying surfaces are all very stiff, no flex, so it should fly reasonably accurately, well that's what I am hoping anyway.
