Batteries

Hello:

I am looking for advice on what to use for batteries. I have a 50cc I am using JR X9303 R921 and Hitec 7955-TG's on all control surfaces.

ThanksWilliam

I use two 6 volt 1200 mah nimh and two switches going into one reciever.

I'm in the process of building my 30% Edge and using 2x 1100mah a123's for RX/servos and another a123 + diode in series for ign.

a123's are the most robust, safe and highest output batteries available. Not to mention they can be charged at 10amps!

Use two batteries and two switches. I had been running a big model on two 4-cell 2400mah nimh AA packs wired together to make one big pack. Bad idea! there are issues with charging them at the same time. I found I was running dangeriously low voltage after some aerobatics. Could have lost the plane. Nottice how ehn you move the servos the voltage dances all around on the volt watcher with a 4-cell pack, bad.

Run two five cell packs with seperate heavy duity switches using built in charging ports. This give you more headspace on the voltage and if one switch glitches you won't crash. Cermark is top notch on battery stuff. I had them make me a couple of 5-cell sub-c packs. I have never seen the voltage drop any significant amount even under load. I suggest you call them and get theri input then buy the right batteries.

The least weight and best choice of batteries is dual setup A123 1100mA each through it's own heavy duty switch as stated above. They are far superior to "any" Nimh or Nicd battery and will recharge in 10-15 minutes.

0ne, 2300 A123 pack for RX and Ignition. Done it and it works good.

You can see the trend here, basicly, two batteries and two switches. Your choice on what type of batteries you want. I use the the two bats and two switches because i don't want to lose my plane if a switch or battery fails on me. I use 2 on all my planes 50cc and bigger.
