Need a little help on going Electric....>>>
I am a electric newbie. I have decided to start converting some of my ships. Let me know if I am close on these two conversions please.
Hangar 9 Tribute 36 (My fav little toss in the truck and go airplane) I am going to use a 3542 1000kv with a 45 Amp ESC. Going to try on a 11.1v 3 cell Li-po (stealing from my 450 heli!)
Is that enough motor, too much?
Then my Funtana S90, the old yellow version. 69.5" span and approx 8lbs. Going to try a 4258 500KV with a 85 Amp ESC on 18.5v 5-Cell Li-po.
I know zip about electrics, I just tried to read some article on other conversions and tried to "guess" at motor size and ESC requirements.
I do dabble in 3D stuff, but I am NOTa proficient 3D pilot... yet. Am I out to lunch here or am I in the ballpark?

I have a Formula 3D, about the same size as the Funtana. I am using a Tacon 60, 20X8 APC E prop, 60 amp esc and a 6s 5500 battery. I do not think the 5s will give it the umph you are looking for.

This motor with a 3s 2200 battery swinging a 12X6 APC E prop gives about 56 ounces of thrust.
Buzz.

GSG, Here's the web calculator link I used to find what I needed when I converted. Hope it helps.
