Default My current "ELEKTRIFIKATION"

Every picture tells the story.

Had enough of this noisy/wet crap for the last 9 years.

Quiet, no mess, plug it in & off you go!

First test run as E power.

More of a prop.

Check of the pull.

Bit of fine tuning.

Getting to the electronics.

Should have done it long time ago!

I hear you about the noise and stuff...

Tell us the e-conversion price tag, how much per battery and flight times, and then tell us how much you spend on fuel per flight.

Now, get rid off that antenna radio and get yourself a nice Futaba 10J on FHSS protocol.

Well, 10 years of IC with this model was good enough for me, time to progress! After selling the full IC set up, bought me brand new 6Kwatt power horse. 200+ lipos of every size and capacity gives me great selection for enjoyable flight time with this model.
Just received the new larger prop I have tested today, 25x8 with rather nice performance after the quick static test. 15.75 kilogram pull @ some 6.7K/RPM. The ESC felt hardly any warmth, with motor reaching 50 C after loading it up to simulate short flight.
Rather impressive figures compare to the 23x8 I have used last 5 flights at 12.2 kilo static pull, where both the motor and ESC never even warmed up after 5 min. flight time and some 2350 mA consumed from 12S/5200/60C packs. I like it.

Bit of variety.

Change required for more travel.

Simple set up with easy access.
Couple of flights on new 25x8 prop, more than happy, lot quieter than expected with plenty of power but not enough travel on my Elevator for full authority of this 2 pound heavier model than my old IC set up. I have changed today links geometry to double the travel to some 45 deg. deflection.
Even with this larger prop the motor/ESC reminded rather cool after short 4 minute test flight time so I'm getting bit by bit more comfortable with it. Just love it.
Next few days the winter weather is on the way with strong Sth. rain and only 17 deg. absolute madness for this time of the year in sub-tropics!
(Extra test new prop)

From 25x8 up to 26x10.

One K less RPM.

With huge torque increase.

Fine tune with the tips touch.
Never ending enjoyment flying this E-powered giant, just fitted with another larger prop to see how it copes.

How about realism? Don't you miss the real airplane sound which many of us enjoy more than that of a hair dryer???

Extra size prop tester, running very cool.

Long weekend fun fly day.

Fun shot.
People flying hair dryers obviously don't know what it is to fly 6-18 Kwatt, E-power or the real things. LOL.

Another conversion from glow to E-power after 10 years service with my giant turbine powered "Touch of Magenta" foamy. It's so much easier to plug it in, and off you go than messing around with smelly kero. LOL.
(Magenta re-maiden as an EDF)

Decade as turbine was long enough.

Time for a change.

2 kilo heavier as E-powered.

10Kw foamy GIANTS.

2 kilo heavier than turbine powered.

Now as EDF.
