Default Kyosho Pitts Special conversion

Ok after allot of research and a couple of posts I have made a decision to go with a
Kyosho Pitts Special, I was blown away by the appearance of this kit, it seemed to have all the extras I was looking for, so my question
Is will the Maxim N32-13Y brushless motor and controller MEC 4:1 Superbox gearbox with this kit? Will it give me the supplied power I would need to do acrobatic maneuvers? Also does anyone know of e conversion post for this kit?

I can tell you who would know: Tom Cimato of MaxCim 716-662-5651.

IIRC, MaxCim makes two motors, the 13D and 13Y. One of them requires 20+ cells to work well, and the other is okay on 16, again IIRC. The one that needs lots of cells is not the one you want, because it'll make the plane too heavy.

If it were me doing the conversion, I'd be looking at 16-cell power systems for an aerobatic .40-size plane.

Thanks for the info, I will be using Lithium thunder packs for power, so that will lighten the load.

Hi!
I would do it with AXI4120/18 motor or any outrunner like this one and 6 cells Tunder packs 6000mAh. You will have 10-15 minutes of flight. Remember to check the correct CG, Kyosho's wrong.
Best regards.

what motor did you use for this Pitts spicial. I have a irvine .46 that I can use but I'm also thinking of a brushless motor for this plane.
