DK,

Are you running those pack in a 1p configuration? My 6S2P pack with leads and connections is around 20-22 oz.

I too have the Funtana 40 with an AXI 4120/18 motor & APC 14x7 prop. I also use the older 70 OPTO ESC and (2) Thunder Power 3s2p 4200mAh batteries in series. Power is similar to a Saito 80 (plenty) this way. If you use (1) 4200mAh battery the plane will fly fine, but with less power. I am currently waiting for the newer A123 batteries to be more readily available, and then I will switch to them. Hope this helps.........

Thank 's John

I have the same esc, 70 opto with hobby lobby's bec
did you change the timing? on yours?
the stock setting was the single beep mode
i had to change it ,it would cut out on throttle up
and make a chopping sound.H.L told me on the set up they sold me
I would not have to touch the timing.

also, when i got the set up the plane had plenty
of power then about the sixth time i flew it
it started that chopping sound on throttling up?
then i read how to advance the timing
the chopping sound went away
still no power. is there a good meter
that can measure the watt's /volts this is on the 5 cell 18.5 flightpower lipo's

Hi Ken; No, I didn'nt have to touch anything.......I've flown mine for two summers now and look forward to my next project; probably a Yak 54 of some sort. Maybe with an AXI 4131 for power. The battery thing has me somewhat perplexed, but as I mentioned the newer A123's look promising and I still fly 28% gassers.......Regards[8D]

Hey, John its ken I found out it was my esc !! it was not leting the motor
spool up with the watts it needed I put a watt meter to it and she read
290 watts at full throttle?? so i took the 5cell lipo to my friends
hooked it up and got a 1000 watts at full throttle 60 amps!
so the lipo is fine it's the jetti 70 my motor was fine.

thanks ken

It's your mah 3300 would give you a longer run time.
try that set up, and with the batts you have you will feel the power
loss back off the power and set up to land.
