Hi Everyone
I am new to the electric game , this is a new conversion from glow to electric. Flight video http://media.putfile.com/8-foot-wing...c-SPAD-trainer , in the video I flew close because I have a small zoom on camera.
wingspan 96"
chord 12"
fuselage 50
weight 7 pounds , 5oz.
Motor AXI 2826-12
controller jeti advance 40 Opto plus
battery thunder power 3s2p 4200 mAh
I have some questions? How much cooling do I need ? I know heat hurts, but how hot is hot for Batteries and controller.
After tne video flight the controller and battery were warm to the touch, the controller maybe a little warmer. Just wondering how far to go on the heat? It is a trainer so its never going to be flown hard. But anyway , Thanks David

Great job! That looks like a real tough bird. I could use something like that to clear the airfield during busy times in the summer.
The Lithium pack temperature should not exceed 160 degrees F or it will reduce the pack longevity. Your open-air AXI outrunner should stay nice and cool.
Good luck!

Your project seem very weel done.
Also, small question. Do you have only one lipo pack ? what is your propeller size.
And about a 4130, from AXI, does it can be better or the 2826 was not use at full of it's power and was enought ?
Thanks

Sorry! I made a mistake, the prop is 13-10.. As far as the 4130 AXI , that would be great! it depends on what you want to do with it? Bigger motor adds more power , Yes! it also adds more weight , And cost. ( Dual batteries) ouch!!l In the video at level flight I'm at half throttle. With the weight of the plane and wing size wingload is a little over 15oz. thats great for a SPAD trainer of that size, Thats what I built it for. a real floater. Heres an under the hood PIC of equipment. This wing has been flown with two glow engines EVO 61, and LA46 and then the AXI , for a trainer, the AXI blows there doors off . I say that again a TRAINER!! It will fly with anything you want to put on it.. I hoped I helped .
Have a Great Day or Evening
David
PS The plane Pics are the EVO 61 and LA46 , Fuselage and stab. are defferent on all
