Power requirements - Dynaflite Spitfire.
Hi All
I recently acquired a Dynaflite Spitfire - well it's a Spiteful, really. I saw it flying, and it flew well. The guy said that he wanted the gas motor out of it and was selling the rest. We agreed on a price, and it was mine. It's from last century, so the price reflected the tired look. Anyway, I got the plans with it and they recommend 120 - 4 stroke or 90 - 2 stroke, motors. The wing (including the Robarts), weighs 2100 grams (4.6 lb). The fuse weighs 2800 grams (6.2 lb), after stripping out the motor etc. The wing measures 2060 mm (81 in), span (1150 inē). I hope that's enough detail. Which brushless electric/ESC combo equates to all of that, please? Cheers Max |
OK So no one knows the answer?
The motor which came off the model was an OS 155A. My research tells me that it is .155 cu inches, which equates to https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-...-160-glow.html I've no idea if I'm right, but I'm moving on to the ESC . . . Perkins 85 Amp? Back to Google. |
did you convert it?
[kv(battery volts)prop pitch]/1056 = no slippage speed turnagy g-160 = 245 or 290kv 6s batt = 22.2volts 8s batt = 29.6volts pitch = 8, 10, 12in [290(22.2)12]/1056= 73.15mph, actual ~62mph [290(29.6)12]/1056= 97.54mph actual ~83mph [290(29.6)10]/1056= 81.3mph actual ~70mph turnagy sk3 5060-320 [320(22.2)12]/1056= 80.7mph, actual ~69mph I have a pt-19 dynaflight and I am planning to replace the g-38 with a G-160-245kv on 8s [245(29.6)12]/1056= 82.4mph, actual ~69mph hope this helps?
