Hybrid Glow and Electric in same aircraft
I have a Model Cessna with two glow engines.... one push and one pull... I want to put an electric on the rear push firewall.... So a combined Glow on the front and an Electric on the rear (pushing) I believe the model Cessna is a 337 (?) with one glow engine in the front and one glow in the rear... in a pusher mode... My question is how do I connect the ESC with the receiver to have two throttle functions... The ESC is a 40 amp with BEC.... Should I try to use one battery for the electric motor and one battery for the servos... ? Thanks... Richard

You can get away with 1 battery but I would use a separate BEC, not the one in the ESC. Disconnect the power line on the throttle lead from the ESC, You can use a y-harness but I would recommend using an AUX channel with mixing instead. That way you can set different endpoints, idles and throttle curves for the two kinds of motors.

Don' t remove the red pin completely, you may need it again in another plane. Attachment 2263202 Attachment 2263203 Attachment 2263204 |
